They slept together two years later). If that is fine (when if he was under 16 when he started working there it'd be considered grooming) then I dont know why this receives so much flak. Do people really think the creepiness of a 20 year age gap far outshadows a 10 year one when in both scenarios the younger party was 16-17? I don't think there's much of a difference. I'd argue this is the reason Martin considers it so normal.
That's exactly my stance on age gap relationships. It's two things 1. The younger person in the relationship,imo, should be older than 21. They need to have an education and live a teen/young adult life. Have a bit of life experience. Otherwise the older person can easily groom, manipulate and coerce them. 2. The older person should never be old enough to be your parent or worse grandparent! So anything more than 18 years is just weird to me. Of course this is just my opinion as someone who has been in such relationship at 15 and again at 35. There is a massive difference.

One thing I can give Martin some credit for is that several times throughout their relationship he realized that their age gap was a problem and the differences became apparent when she had people around partying/other conflicts they encountered. People don't realize how manipulative Katy was in trying to keep Martin, it's also heavily implied she intentionally got pregnant in order to keep him. "How could you create a life to try and keep me and then destroy it when things dont go your way?". She was extremely callous about the abortion too.
