Uyyy, qué belleza. Yo soy nacido mexicano, raised a bit in Texas and most all my life in Florida, since the late 80's. My family would go shopping for our Mexican specialties at the "tiendas de cubanos". This was way before Wal-Mart started carrying our food. We've also rented Mexican movies there. I've known many LATAM cultures. From new arrivals, to pochos and US born (chicanos), it's been a riot. Saludos mexicanos (American, también) from Florida, y'all. ¡Viva México! 🇲🇽
I watched this episode of his documentary and it is really informative..😃 If anyone can find a place that can make a chopped cheese sandwich, it will be worth it..😊
I was born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn 70 years ago (left in 1974). The neighborhood was all PRs, Jews, Poles and Italians. My family is of Franco Spanish descent. Puerto Rican bodegas were everywhere in the neighborhood. Every PR that came from the island with money would put one up and did well. When I hear the term Bodega now owned by anyone not PR, and not just a grocery store anymore it seems strange. Funny thing is that I have vacationed in PR many times and have never seen a local grocery store called a Bodega there by the locals. They're called "Colmados".
That's not true in my experience. John Leguizamo got into a cab with me by accident one time 20 years ago when he was way more famous. This was at 3 am in lower Manhattan. He didn't have security. He was by himself and rode with me until I got out at my stop and he paid for the cab. Super nice dude.
This video confused me. Having travelled extensively both in Spain and across many Spanish-speaking countries, I was expecting a tourist video of vinyards and wine cellars. Instead I was shown las tiendas de conveniencia! 🤔

Johnny Legs, I freaking adore you but sorry, y'all didn't give us Italians the tomato🍅 or zucchini. 😉. Of course Latins made some delicious foods with them...but so did we. 🤌

Italians have some of the most amazing food, but the tomato didn’t arrive to Italy until after the mid 1500’s from Central America. It’s was part of the food items brought over to Europe from the first trips after the “discovery” of the Americas.
