Great adaptor and Survivor
First thing worth watching on Netflix in a while. European here, I tend to hear things about black history, but had no idea how little I knew about the Latin side of things until watching his show.
I was just about to say the same thing...Wow, we're was Latin history when I was in high school reading about all these wars.
It's one of those read it yourself at the library.
Its satire in between, so look up the books he references. Good reading.
I plan to watch it this weekend.
Education is power.

The biggest minority in the US with almost no visibility in media and Hollywood movies. Kind of weird if you ask me as an outsider from Sweden. The latino community has great potential.
Part of the reason is that about half are foreigners and among the native born, most are still very young. So this might change in one or two decades. Maybe.
we were and been in every war plus kicked out of our own land just to be asked to come back and work it then get kicked out again the reson we aren't betrayed in the media or Hollywood is because we have our own movies and music exc..and we don't bitch every time we are insulted we keep going with a smile fuck it
Just recently we have been taking over Hollywood, we now have directors, producers, and actors making award winning acts and movies. Guillermo Del Toro makes bad ass movies.

I’m a Latin female and I was never taught anything in school about our contributions to U.S. history and when I traveled to Mexico City I learned our great contributions by visiting great seminars and museums.

Truth be told though, we have made a lot of strides in recent decades. Gael Garcia Bernal, Eugenio Derbez, Salma Hayek, Alejandro Inarritu's Oscar for Revenant, Guillermo Del Toro's success, etc.

Most hispanics in the new world are som kind of meztisos which I dont mean as a derogatory term as it might be used in some countries. Not even iberians are a race which would be the hispanic race if there was such a thing. Latin people should include french italian portuguese and Romanian speaking people aswell?
And mind that latinos and hispanics are not the same. Brazilians, for example, are latinos but not hispanics, as they do not speak spanish (portuguese is their language).

The man is incredible, extraordinarily talented! He gets so much into his character he's sometimes unrecognizable. He becomes the character he portrays! I'm mystified as to why he's not a bigger star.
