    I swear I can always count on you for these great and thorough reviews any time! I kept seeing the ad for Babyation on Facebook constantly and I would just scroll right through and then I finally read the words they used for marketing and clicked on it. Then I came onto UA-cam to look for a review or video examples and lo and behold you've made a video explaining it! You're amazing! Thank you so much for everything you're doing!! You're really helping out us new moms!

    Maybe they should offer a discount program when you return used tubing. That way you save customers some money and recycle plastic.

    Love the idea of this pump! I personally would buy it if tubing would be less expensive. I need to pump at night in order to keep my milk supply and this pump would work great, but $1.75 each day on top of $500 is a lot ..

      So I have the lactek sleepy mom adapters, that allow me to use my pump laying down. It came with 5 replacement tube sets. HOWEVER, it also came with a syringe to clean out the tubing. So you can create a solution of hot water and peroxide/alcohol and pump it through the tubes… BUT the hack I use is I keep the pump attached on one end then the end with the flange, I take the adapters out, set them in a clean/sterile container with hot water and let it pump through the tubes. Then I repeat the process with a 2-1 mix of hot water and alcohol/peroxide (on a low/slow suction). Then I repeat again with HOT water. After that’s all done I let the pump “dry pump” so it gets as much liquid out as possible, and I let them hang dry. I alternate 2-3 sets of tubing (that way while one is drying completely I can use the other one). In theory, I think something similar would work with this system.

    So, I bought this pump thinking it would be the perfect fit for my professional needs... to say this pump is finicky is an understatement. I cannot use it without having a mess between the tubes or flanges popping off and getting expressed milk all over my clothes. The machine randomly shuts off because it will think that a container is full while also letting another one overflow. The app does not pair easily with my phone and the solution in the booklet is to revert to manual use, which is not helpful. Because the posts seem to be finicky as well, I spend a good 15 minutes of my pumping time just getting it setup to the point where I can trust it to do its thing. The ice pack doesn't stay cold for more than 4 hours. So, if you work more than 6, I would not rely on the pump to keep it cold, which also goes against one of it's selling points. The bra inserts do not work with my bra or breast size so I sit in my office with my breasts out, rather than being discrete and the pump's max speed cannot keep up with my letdown so the flanges pop off and are full of milk. The videos on the website and booklets are not really useful for real life use either so troubleshooting is not great either. I REALLY want to love this pump as I have invested so much in it but there are so many other practical and less expensive pumps out there.

      @@christineezzard4662 I use the Lengendairy silicone cups with the Baby Buddha pump. I didn't want the pump up in my face, which is why I didn't go with the Imani or Elvie. The pump fits in a fanny pack (got off Amazon) and is relatively quiet, and the cups have options for smaller (than 24mm) flange sizes. I generally love most of their products.

    The downside for me would be that you can't easily walk around with it like wearable pumps. Some jobs just cannot accommodate pumping breaks (I'm looking at you healthcare jobs) no matter what the law says, the stress of trying to work in pumping breaks will decrease your supply as fast as skipping pumps. But otherwise if you have the money I think it would be great for people with desk jobs or if they modify it in the future to be able to wear the bigger part on your hip similar to baby Buddha or freemie, then it would be more of an option for people who cannot take breaks. And don't come at me in the comments that breaks are required by law. Imagine nurses, pharmacists, teachers, surgeons, etc who have a very hard time scheduling consistent breaks. I'm happy for the advent of pumps for these moms and hope they only get better in the future. If I were to have another baby and they modify the pump to be worn on your hip then I would consider purchasing it.

    I have a few questions if you do a deep dive in this pump later. If you are at work, do you pump into the same bottles each time or do you need to empty them after every pump? How sensitive is the shut off for motion. If I am pumping at a desk and then walk across the room with it, will it turn off? Is that going to spill milk on me if it does shut off or will I just need to turn it back on. I want this pump haha. I am coming to the end of pumping though I believe, but will keep this one in mind for the next baby!

    Soooo although it seems like a great idea even though it is a cool new system, and I don’t like the cost of use, I don’t like that just cause there’s no huge falange sticking out your bra you still are attached to that huge device…. I would’ve loved too see the actual bottles and I’m not understanding if I could pump both breast simultaneously? Or is it one side at a time?? This would mean that it’s double the cost/use of tubing and time consuming. Does it empty the breast well like a spectra? It was a wonderful review just wish it had a few more ooints

    Couldn’t you theoretically just like, flush the tubes with a syringe? Maybe like in a pinch? People do it with GTubes, why not milk tubes? I feel like the company is just trying to avoid a lawsuit with the 24-hour thing

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  2 роки тому +5

      You can NOT get water in the side of the tube that hooks to the motor or you’ll ruin the pump. You also won’t be able to get the tube dry, which risks bacteria/mold growth. So no, I really don’t think cleaning the tubes is a realistic or safe option. Great question though!

      I guess I just want to see how it comprares to something basic like what I currently have, spectra 2 as I used this for my first baby. As a working mom in a hospital doing 12 hour shits the convenience is a dream. Yes, cost of tubing is something to consider. Trying to make sure I’m not going to give up effectiveness of a breast pump for the convenience. Hope that makes sense…thank you so much for all you do!!!

    There’s no way you tried this pump…if you did, there is NO WAY you would recommend it to any pumping person, ever. I bought it based off of this video and can I just say…. A devastated waste of money. I was in tears both times I used this and finally, the second time, it broke and the tubes wouldn’t stay so my precious milk would go everywhere. This is also not for plus size or large chested people! It’s a horrible, awful, expensive pump.

    I'm reading that the ice pack only lasts 4 hours. Are we meant to chuck the whole pump in the fridge or just have back up ice packs to swap out. Trying to decide if this is what I need for back to work. Currently using a Motif Luna that makes me want to rip out my hair.

    I have a question. I know the fridge hack isn’t really technically recommended, but I definitely did it with all my pump parts for my last baby.
    I was wondering if the tubing can be kept at room temperature for 24 hours or if it’s supposed to be in the cooler section (with the ice picks frozen) during the 24 hours while you’re not pumping?
    The tubing is the only thing preventing me from taking jump and getting this for myself, I can’t justify paying for the tubing over and over quite yet especially since you said you can’t flush the tubing at all and risk getting the air flow tube wet, in one of your other responses.
    I’m pregnant with my second and am not currently lactating, but I’m definitely considering getting this pump.

    • @layneabbott3849
      @layneabbott3849 Рік тому +1

      I think the idea is that as long you’re pumping at least every six hours, you can leave the tubing out! Because if you wait like 5 hours, the small amount of milk in the tubes is put into the bottles next to the ice pack as soon as you start pumping! That’s why you have to replace the tubes every 24 hours or if it’s been six hours since your last pump session!

    There is alot about the information that makes this pump sound great. I intend to get a Willow 3.0 and Spectra 1. This is making me question if it may be a better choice then the Spectra. I hope to be home breast feeding for at least the first 4 to 5 months. Then I will be pumping when I am working lets say 3 to 4 days a week of 12 hours days. Traveling back and forth from home with a pump, will 100% need to be considered. I know the Willow could be used in this possibility as well i just figure nice to have both options. I'm curious if you have an opinion on the difference between this and the spectra just in regards of ease of travel with the 2? - Negating the cost differences or tub replacement.

Pumping already involves heaps of plastic waste, the single use tubing is disgraceful. Get it together, Babyation, jfc.

    How sensitive is the pump to motion regarding shut down? Is the tubing long enough for pumping while driving for long commuters? If I get up and carry it across the office while pumping, will it shut off, lose suction and spill my milk in my bra? Will the motion of a driving car shut it down?
