I have a question about my Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for the purpose of Family Class Spouse Sponsorship. I obtained my PCC on February 2, 2024, using my old passport number. However, I've since received my new passport, which includes my spouse's name and a new address, on April 4, 2024. Should I go ahead with my application using the PCC issued with my old passport and include a Letter of Explanation (LOE) for the change, or should I wait to obtain a new PCC with the details of my new passport?
Hello my husband is sponsoring us with my child but at the first time I didn't submit police certificate when I was submitting so am planning to submit now even I already make medical. But in my background check it says processing and took many months so do you think because of that its delaying. So eventhough they didn't ask me can I submit it now please answer my question.

hello. I have a question about pcc. I have difficulty to get pcc in singapore. It was stuck in Singappore, my courier says my fingerprint in Singapore was delivered but in Singapore in their status says pending and I received an email from them that they have not yet received my fingerprint. I called canada post to locate my fingerprint but still it takes more long time and I called Singapore but the operator told me that they cant say. I have my old pcc in Singapore when I applied a WP. I am thinking if I can use that to upload and submit it with the supporting documents why I cant upload the new one and I will explain in a letter that I will submit the new one once I received it. I am in PNP non EE pathway for PR. I got my nomination in AB and only valid for 6 mos. I was stress on this situation. Kindly advise if I can do that.

Hi Suyash! I have a question regarding PCC requirements. My wife studied in the Philippines for four years and returned to India in 2018. She currently holds a PCC that was issued in 2018 and was valid until January 2019. However, she hasn't visited the Philippines since coming to India. Hi Suyash! I moved to Canada 3 months after I turned 18 and only visited my home country for 2 weeks at a time ever since. Both IMM 5289 and the IMM 5598 document checklist say that I do not need to submit a PCC upfront. But my PR application portal still says that I need to upload a police clearance. Do I upload a letter of explanation here instead? Or should I just get a PCC done anyway?

if you send your application now, your current PCC should be good for another 6 months. not really worth applying for new a one unless they specifically request

as long as one partner is a PR or Canadian citizen, you can apply.

it should be considered as long as the application reaches the officer within the 12 month period from the date of issue of pcc

Edit: The "any family members" refers to a very specific set of people (See guide IMM 5289): An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.
Therefore it is people (i.e. spouse or children) that will accompany the principal applicant to Canada. So not the "entire family".

Pcc waiting time is more than a month and I want to submit my application for spouse visa earliest because its been 2 months to reissue my passport already 🙄. So, can I write a letter like I have booked pcc appointment and when i got i will upload it until what i have related pcc i upload the documents ( receipt, pcc appointment application)? I am afraid that will not work. You will need to upload India PCC upfront, else you run the risk of getting your application rejected. Must follow what the guide 5289 says
