  • I was recently a guest on a podcast with Jeff DeVerter www.rackspace.... and we discuss Low Code vs. Pro Code. We do a brief demo but really focus more on the topic at hand and getting to the bottom of it. Long story short? Nope low code and pro code work together to build a better tomorrow. 😁

Thank you Shane for your videos. They have really been a blessing to me at work. I have been really using Powerapps for my companies sharepoint sites. I have been able to make all kinds of forms because of it

The issue with power platform is not only the licensing but very related is the built in thresholds for actions and runs.

Shane and Reza , all power apps users must have seen at least one video by you even they are expert when it comes to PowerApps.
Very clear and neat tutorials. And you created many super users in PowerApps.

Hey Shane, ever thought to have your other consultants join you for a video or something like that? That'd be sick!

It is something we have thought about. Allison joined me to teach Power BI once. But you are right, we need to more of it. PBI video ua-cam.com/video/LnMEBtE5L8s/v-deo.html

I still like/prefer low code tho (Python particularly). Arranging layout in canvas PowerApps could be very frustrating. Nonetheless your videos and Reza's help us a lot and thank you so much for that.

    Hey Shane,
I don't know how to use power fx command. I started watching your videos. It's been helpful. I am at the basic level now.
Recently, power fx command bar has been added to model driven app.
So through this, am creating custom button which should be visible based on some field conditions and security role of current user= "test"
In visibility, I added field conditions in command bar.
But unable to fetch current user and security roles.
Could you help me out here if possible.
    Thanks in advance

I would love to help but I am not sure, I haven't tried any of that in Model-Driven yet. Sorry

I don't, which I guess it was a flop. Thankfully Power Apps has already proven not to be a flop. I don't think it will ever replace pro code but I do think it takes away the need for procode for simple apps. :) Time will tell.

There is no cloud. There are only computers owned by other people. I'm with the Army, developing apps as they transition to Army 365. I love working with Power Apps, but I despise the idea we have lost autonomy and physical security over our assets.

Yup, I get a lot of comments on Power App being a toy app, not powerful blah blah blah. I just have to say give it another 10 years and the pool of Pro Developers will diminish. Say what you want, business people see value in the Power Platform.

You do realize that Microsoft has many mature development languages and platforms. Why in the world do we have to start over from scratch and wait 10 years?

After wrestling with a filtered combobox for a SharePoint list form that uses a lookup field, then I'm certain real Devs are very safe.
