అ ప/ పావనవీణారవ సమ్మోదిని|
సేవకజనచయ విద్యాదాయిని||
చ/ శివమాధవాది వినుతే కమల|
భవ సమ్మోహితే గానరసికే||
కువలయ సమాంజనయుత విలోచని|
ధవళాoబరి మురళీరవహితే||
భావం:
పవిత్రమైన వీణానాదమునకు ముదమొందు తల్లీ! సేవకజన సమూహమునకు విద్యాదానముచేయు తల్లీ! కమలభవుడైన బ్రహ్మదేవుని సమ్మోహితుని చేసిన తల్లీ! గానమును ఆనందింపగల రసజ్ఞత కలిగిన తల్లీ! తెల్లని వస్త్రములు ధరించిన తల్లీ! పలుకులకు శోభను వృద్ధిచేయు సరస్వతీమాతా! అరచేత పుస్తకమును ధరించిన పుస్తకపాణి! తుమ్మెద రెక్కలను బోలు నిగారింపు కల్గిన నల్లని ప్రవాహము వంటి ఒత్తైన శిరోజ సంపద కల్గిన అలివేణీ! మము కాపాడుమా!
English:
O Saraswati, One who holds the book of knowledge in her hand, One whose name evokes the hum of a stream of bumblebees, One who provides delight through the musical notes of her virtuous Veena, One who enlightens her devotees with divine knowledge, One who is worshipped by Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and others, One who allures Lord Brahma, One who is a connoisseur of great music, One whose eyes resemble the darkest hues of the dark Lilly, One who is adorned with pearly white garments, One who favours the music of Murali, Please have me in your graces!
