Flip, watching you cast for a while taught me more than all of the talk in the world. It brought all of the ideas and explanations together in a great way. If a picture is worth a 1000 words, this vidio is worth millions! Thanks for posting it.
Making it look easy Flip... my back cast has suffered for years! I think just watching you cast has been the best thing I've ever done to fix that. Think you! Best regards From Ohio.
That's awesome, I now use opst system with a short shooting head and shorter leader and tip. No more hauling just one roll cast and shoot 30-60', my shoulder cant handle double hauling all day long. But imo their is nothing better than a beautiful long double haul with a gentle fly presentation.
So rhythmic and easy… Watching Flip cast helps me realize that for 90% of fishing, less is actually more. No where is this more evident than in fly fishing….
Well Flip I picked up a fly rod after I gave you the wooden push pole. Sitting here in Montana for the summer I’m not in much need for distance but when I get back to Florida in Dec I could use some help thanks
This is obviously n I t the Lefty Kreh method...he is not using his body to make the cast, breaking the wrist...goes to show there is more than 1 way to skin a cat. It also seems he is using the standard 10-2 o'clock method.
A crossed line is not a tailing loop by definition. Its all sorts of other things. An under slung loop, a tight loop cast out of plane, a loop commonly seen on spey casters - all sorts - but it's not a tailing loop.THIS IS NOT A TAILING LOOP

Almost all wrist. Don't listen to the people who say u cant cast that way. Flip is a legend and look at that wrist.
A video to watch over and over again.

That cast is majestic
Beautiful to watch, Flip.
Perhaps this fly casting method can save from shoulder injuries 😊

when gear, man and technique achieve symbiosis. well done.

Mesmerizing!
What line are you using Flip ? If you can say! Think you Sir for being here. God's Speed. Walter
Poetry in motion 😀

Perfectly!

Flip is a legend, but almost every cast in this video has a tailing loop.
Do you know what a tailing loop is? Not a single tailing loop in this video
Sorry Flip but everyone of your casts shown here are tailing loops. A little wind and you'll have knots all over your leader/tippet...
Don't think you know what a tailing loop is
You saw that too. Was a nice calm day. Love the story Lefty tells about how he met flip
I do believe that is a "trailing loop" or underslung loop, it is not a tailing loop or cross loop.
Estevan Vasquez Nah, I know exactly what a tailing loop is and how it’s formed. After all, I’ve only been fishing for 33+ years...

Back loop sucks!!!
Your back loop sucks !
