I love how you repeat “no measuring”! That helps with crafters confidence I think. My 4th grade teacher yanked scissors out of my hand and scolded me for not cutting straight. I’m almost 65 and it still bothers me. Watching you use your scissors is fun because you’re so good at it! Thank you for helping crafters gain confidence!
I'm sorry for the negative experience that teacher caused. I stopped going to my science class in 10th grade because my teacher always lied saying I didn't turn in my homework. My guidance counselor and the Principal took her word over mine and my friend who saw me hand in various assignments. I wound up dropping out and getting my GED, which thankfully didn't affect me because of my intelligence. I later worked for the Superior and Supreme Courts back East and as a Legal Secretary for an Attorney out West. My daughter and I literally just had a discussion about the quality of teachers yesterday as I helped her decorate her home for the Holidays. Good teachers are such a Blessing and there is no excuse for the bad ones. Blessings of love and light to all!
I learned to use scissors with my right hand because I had no access to left handed ones when I was a child. One tip to help you cut out small shapes: turn the papers, keep the scissors where they are. Use the part of the blades closest to your hand. Then the cut has gone on long enough to be happening near the end of the scissors, just open up the blades again and move the paper closer to your hand inside the blades. I hope this helps you.
I love making this type of bag. I have books and books of old wallpaper samples, and the sheets make perfect gift bags like this, and they are really sturdy!
I want to make bags to put together some emergency bags. We have stuff to put in the car in case of emergency, or even to carry with on a hiking trip. These will work nicely. Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄
Hobby lobby has THE best wrapping paper- super high quality thick paper. After Christmas it goes on sale for 90% off- I was getting it for less than a dollar a roll- I got carried away one year and now have a closet full 😑 using pinking sheers across the top of the bag looks cute too. Keep all those great projects coming!
These would make cute popcorn bags for movie night! Might need to put a parchment liner inside if you like extra butter, but that would be so easy to do.
Thank you so much for this tip! It save me six times with odd size gifts that I did not have a box or bag to fit the gift. This was by far my most used Christmas tip this past Christmas and I know I will use it all year long! Have blessed 2023! And again thanks for sharing.😄
I don't do paper crafts generally, but every so often I have some need for inspiration and think, "I bet the Posh Paper Lady has something on this!" Your ideas are so creative and well-explained. Thanks!
I could watch you all day. I have crafted for 30 years but I seem to have lost my creativity 🥺. Your videos are inspiring me to get back into creating wonderful things. Thank you bunches!!!
My husband laughs when I wrap gifts or make fun bags for them . He said the wrapping or covers are more beautiful than the gift so when the person opens it, they will be disappointed with their gift, lol! (That hasn’t happened yet that I know of). Thanks for all the tips. I really have fun with my projects ❤
This is GREAT! I have also used the Dollar store bags that rip or tear as wrapping paper. Sometimes I use the torn pieces to make/decorate a greeting card. I also used the bags to make the cover of an Event Calendar.
Hi Sherry, thank you, for sharing another brilliant idea, for using up spare unused wrapping paper. Your ideas come in very handy. Nothing ever goes to waste. Brilliant. Thank you. Julia Cassidy from Nottingham England 🤓🇬🇧👍🤗
WOW !!! Who knew it was so easy to make your own custom bag ? This method looks so easy to do. I wonder if it would work out using fabrics ? Seems to be so many different possibilities. TYSM for sharing this video, and, your techniques and knowledge with us . 👍 😻👍
I've been folding paper around a cereal box to make the shape. You do things so neatly, thanks. Tina, Al's wife
Keeping old cereal/biscuit/etc. Boxes for stabilizing the bottoms would be great, too!

Instead of chopping off the top, I fold it in to reinforce before I add the handles, which also makes it look neater.
This is so clever. Thanks for sharing.
