Great video Pilot, but you forgot an important detail. You forgot to mention the very first thing someone should do when they start playing PTCGL, and that is taking off their socks and lotioning their feet.

i loved ptcgo back in the day but was worried about losing my online collection so i transferred not even realizing what it meant. fell out of live almost immediately but just got back into it two days ago. perfect timing for this

Just so other people dont make the same mistake that i did, legacy energy and prime catcher are in the first few levels of the current battle bass, dont craft those cards.
how do you play pidgeot ex from your hand without the stage 2 i cant see it in the deck list for Charizard? (new player sorry if its a silly question)
With Rare Candy you can skip the Stage 1 Pidgeotto and evolve directly into Pidgeot ex from Pidgey.

Doesn't matter. I'd recommend Deck Boxes / Sleeves / Coins unless you really want to customize your Avatar.
So, as a new player that started just today, I suppose I should skip the battle pass this time around; right?
The Premium Battle Pass is always worth it, even if it's just for the free deck at Tier 0.

As an average player of tcg, i mostly have at least 6-10 energies and the standard trainer cards on my decks:
The necessities are:
-Switch
-Ultra Balls
-Boss Orders
-Rods (ordinary or super rod, depending on format)
-Energy retrieval
-Prof research
-Rare candies
The cards that i mentioned are always on the standard format no matter the rotation each year. So dont forget to put them in your deck.
Is Switch really that good? I find myself never wanting to run it, I feel like I'd rather let my active mon die for the switch, but maybe that's because I'm running Charizard so being down on prizes kind of helps me.
Pretty sure only toolbox decks actually run switch, and only a couple decks run energy retrieval or S energy retrieval when super rod already exists
@@rishiy6183 That's how I feel, I definitely run Super Rods..lol, I was playing around with a Chien Pao deck and Super Energy Retrieval was super necessary in that as well.
Thats why its a necessity, it depends on the deck that you use. Either any of those are useful based on how you play and the deck that you made. That doesnt mean you put all of them at once just to clarify.

I think it's better to suggest new players to play at least 10-11 energy in a deck before they learn how to navigate the game. They're probably also going to want big basics as they are getting up and go or stage ones that don't take much work to get to and less moving parts in general
As someone that played way back in the day it blew my mind that I'm only playing like 7 energy in a deck..lol, it feels so scary but there's so much acceleration now a days, it feels like every deck should have one route it follows to setup a big mon, and most of them have ways to draw energy without needing a bunch.

I bought a 60 card Rayquaza deck. Then, I found out ALL the Rayquaza cards are Banned. Really disappointed. Then, I created a brand new custom Charizard EX Terra deck and I keep winning. I found out I can use Rayquaza deck in Expanded but not Standard. Also, mega evolution is completely banned. Lol 😂
First thing to do in PTCGL: uninstall PTCGL
