    I'm literally only watching this to see how you feel about riding something with a completely different seating position to what you're comfortable with.
    I've seen a few versys reviews because I was tempted to get one myself. Good first impressions video

      It's a decent bike - can't really fault it too much, but that's just me. Cheers, Adam! :)

    Nice review- Just FYI, there is a four way adjustment button for the wind screen- no need to remove it;)! It's on the right side beside the TFT dash. Safe riding!

    Good vid mate, interesting to see another perspective. Screen upgrades are common I think, it's a viby bike, not as bad as the z650 but thanks for sharing ☺️🖖🏼

    I have an '09 Versys. It's the best handling bike I've had ('93 1200 Sporty, '00 1200 Sporty, '15 CB500f). How's the Versys handle compared to the Vulcan 650 S? Does torque feel the same? ty

    I was considering the 1000 version before I bought the GTR. That screen vibration is weird.

    That mic crackling is probably the Jack. It’s likely on the way out. Has happened to two of my mics over the years including the Purple Panda.

    • @UncleRed
      @UncleRed  Рік тому +1

      I've found the mic is sensitive to sudden noise. Laughs, coughs and wind turbulence. Just a normal thing I deal with. :)

    Nice vid. I own a 2020 Versys 650 and did around 35000 KMs during the last 2 years.
    There are some flaws - I also have a Shoei Neotec 2 and the first thing that I replaced was the original windscreen because of the noise (I'm 184 cm). Now it's perfectly fine with a big aftermarket screen. Now the wind protection is "too good" on hot summer days but perfect when the weather / temperature conditions aren't that good.
    Mine wasn't super smooth on low rpms, what makes tight cornering a bit tricky sometimes. Bought an o2 dummy and now everything is working fine ( beside the fact that's not road legal where I live, due to emission regulations)
    It's a really comfortable and reliable bike. My butt starts hurting sometimes after around ~ 4hrs of riding without a brake, I guess that's ok.
    Haven't had any breakdowns or problems so far - great machine for munching miles all year long.
    It's also a great twisty machine and you can move that thing really fast. There's only a lack of power when riding 2 up in the mountains or when you want to overtake more than 1 car on a steep hill.
    I think I understand that "lack of specialness" that you mentioned in the video.
    It's not a thrilling or emotional bike and many people do not like the sound of the inline twin.
    It's a bike that's working without surpises - every day, the whole year, on tarmac, gravel, twisty roads, motorways...a jack of all trades ;)

      A fantastic bike to "do the do" reliably, for sure.
      4 hours in the saddle is pretty good going for a stock seat, to be fair.
      Thanks for a wonderful comment. Always great to see owners chime in with their experience. :)

    Is this the same engine as the re hashed Z650 which I like the look of although it should have been a 4 like the Z900RS .The Versys looks well enough and I am sure ride well too but I would not give it a second look in a showroom sorry to say .👍

    • @UncleRed
      @UncleRed  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, the Versys 1000 looks better/bigger but that has extra height also.
      Sadly the 650 is a good bike... But not special to me. :(

    Oh wow that wind noise at 70...F*** that
    I have a question. Why does the Versys 650 have more BHP than the Vulcan considering it's the same engine? I don't get why they'd tune it up from the Vulcan.
    I don't like the screen, it's ugly and a really odd shape, I would definitely change it.
    Definitely missing an exhaust system.
    Great video mate, really liked your delivery style on this one 😊

      Wind noise is better than any other "adventure" style bike I've ridden (Crosstourer, Vstrom, NC750, Varadero, GS750/850). A lot depends on the rider, build, seating position, even what you wear as leathers tend to be closer fitting than textile suits so are noticeably quieter. I've done 30,000 miles on my Versys 650, it is a bike you just want to ride.

  • @paul_london
    @paul_london Рік тому

    Thanks for the vid! Yeah Versys 650 looks a bit generic, like a soulless bike. Vulcan gives more in that department imo. It is funny though that cruiser community see Vulcan as soulless cruiser.
    Suspension works great, but seating position is a bit less comfy for me personally.
