Today I will attempt to get into the new secret bunker added in build 42 of Project Zomboid, can I take over this bunker and turn it into the ultimate base?
@@kingeze1 It's largely boring. It's incredibly easy to actually survive, which is the only goal, and from there base building is all there is to do, which becomes functionally pointless because you can easily survive just by being a loot hobo and shacking up in random houses.
4:02 since build 42 began, I’ve not found a survivor house with proper survivor loot yet. I found a lot of barricaded homes with no weapons or anything useful. (Not counting the destroyed area in the new map) But not like we used to see in build 41.
they specifically buffed survivor house loot in 42.1.1, so it's probably better now, but I haven't personally tested it since the patch broke melee range.
@@Goombrahh Why melee range is broke ? I didnt see anything in my test. I'm still in the original save of b42 and I dont see any good loot in survivor houses atm too... It is like my game is not updated haha. Maybe should I create new game.
Ive noticed there's no keys to garage doors right now, it used to be in b41 if you found a key to a house it would work for the garage but it seems not to be the case anymore presently in b42 unstable, so for the bunker I'd imagine it would be the same affect :P hope this helps anyone reading this
Some garage doors have inside locks rather than outside locks irl for obvious burglar reasons. Like, a remote controlled garage or one with a code panel on the outside would have a lock in the inside, which is typical for houses and bunkers, but a lock on the outside would be for storage units and likely some businesses/factories. I just hope they implement that instead of ALL garage doors being unlockable because of no keys. I would also love to see a welding x electrical skill requirement to make garage doors since we now have working TV remotes, we could have working remote garage doors or code panels. Easy mod after the TV remote rework if not implemented vanilla.
@@BFett-ri8kt Remote controlled devices and motors are not new tech. A quick google search can tell you they were first made in the 30s and became common for the public in residential settings in the 70s. 1993 was only 30 years ago.

Nope. Not running over anyones pet just because the dickhead behind me likes to ride peoples bumpers and can't break. In my state if you dont allow room and don't break in time, it's YOUR fault regardless, full stop.
Pretty sure there's someone with an ID card that could open up the doors.. so that zombie at 4:52 has a ID card named: ID Card: Kent Singh was your key inside the bunker.. it makes the most logical sense because no other zombie has an ID card on them.... it hurt seeing you destroy that many doors
ID cards are useless items added for atmosphere, player always given an ID with the name of their charachter at the start of a playthrough since you had to have one before the outbreak. The only thing that can open a door is a key
As big as the bunker is, i think it's only nice if you are with a group or something. I would personally go for a smaller more cozy basement/bunker. Nice movie, thanks for sharing! Too bad you didnt find a key.
I don't know if you can build garage doors in this build to fix but maybe could have found a sledgehammer and knocked the wall beside it to save the door and lured some zombies in and try to get the key that way. Other than that build some walls and doors to fix the big gaping pneumonia hole you made to the base lol.
Keys specifically don’t work that way in B42. Either a Zomboid has it or not, you can’t lure them inside a building to force spawn the key in their inventory.
I have 1,300 hrs in this game and probably 10 of that, or so, was simply figuring out how the menu's worked. I had a hell of a time absorbing that in text then, especially, in game. I still have to move very slowly while doing it tho. So I got a mod that let me use a ton of points without off setting them with neg traits. I really wanted to do this bc I wanted to see how op I'd be if I made basically a clone of myself at the age the survivor is and it's a pretty strong build. 2 months! HAHAHA Using neg traits, or using ZERO neg traits with a bunch of positive one's only got me to the 2 month point. Now the game seems WAY harder so I don't even know if I'll even play it again. I found it pretty funny that the fragile, weak, stupid, deaf and basically blind z's were almost impossible to sneak up on and the majority of them took multiple attempts at simply shoving to the ground. In short, for an incredibly realistic game it's so ridiculously unreal/unfair, it's stupid. I mean based on how athletic, fast, and smart I used to be I'd have had a field day with the z's from this game and survival would be extremely easy. But this game uses what I can best describe as SEVERELY one sided RNG. I had a z spawn immediately next to me in a small room about half the size of the laundry hall you'd find in the rosewood popular area just to the east of the police station and my reaction was so fast that I knew there was no way I'd not survive a yr EASILY as a result of my reaction. I mean once it happened I was ready for it all the time and, sure enough, I saw it many times. Oddly, the last time, I had a shotgun and led a massive group to the woods on a dirt rd. I was walking backward blasting tons of them very close to me and was expecting a bogus pop in spawn from the tree's behind me and, when it happened, I somehow magically got grabbed and bitten. HAHAHAHA I tried again after a pretty big break and something similar happened only it wasn't a bogus spawn behind me but one of the one's in the huge horde in front of me just happened to grab me regardless of the fact that I had tons of practice and experience doing this exact same thing but this one time I somehow messed up? NOPE-rng death. Haven't played since and this was a good yr or so ago. I did run it again briefly but it was just to test something. It's a very cool game but that rng is just really frustrating and too random for my taste and I wonder if I'll play it again.
Worst basespot ever. Getting all your loot the way down takes too much work. I am already getting pissed when I have to run the one set of stairs in Rosewood Fire department to place my food in the kitchen. You don't want to know how I would react, if I had to run a shit ton of stairs every time I see that the can opener is missing.
