just remember the empty depot at elderslie , a time when britain had plenty work , dads worked and stopped around 5pm , families got their tea together ,dads got the best seat at fire facing the tv and the news was always on around 6 and you didnt talk when it was on , la scala cinema in scene , enjoyable video

I Remember the trams as a child, My gran used to take me for trips on the trams to friends in glasgow. They were Real leather seats and mahogany wood great. Thanks for the video.

Indeed. This film has been borrowed from the two-part 'Online Video' production entitled 'Glasgow Tramcars', providing a complete history of the Glasgow Tramcar system. Well worth purchasing. They have also produced a two-part series on the Glasgow Underground.

So much bad planning in Glasgow and Paisley in the 70’s. Rest of Europe kept their trams and we got rid of them. To think, after Edinburgh, Paisley has the most Grade A listed buildings in Scotland, what a shame!
