I've had one of those Outdoor Edge knives for a couple years now and they're actually really quite handy. I love that they have it in flippers now. The blades actually last quite a long time, they can be re sharpened easily and it's a great little knife to stuff in a backpack.. but Gunk can get stuck in it
Love my onyx outdoor edge. I like this new design with a flipper. You are correct with a quick strop keeping these edges going forever. Only replace if I get a chip.
They are for skinning. Box cutters don’t have any belly, or good ergonomics. To process big game, it’s a a lot easier to swap out a blade real fast than it is to stop and sharpen a knife. There’s a huge market for interchangeable blades.
Or you can buy a titanium frame lock box cutter with a flipper for 80 dollars and enjoy knife ergos with a replaceable blade. Yes, I spent my money on that. You can have both.
Love the divo variant you got! Ive been trying to find a small pocket knife with purple for a gift that is not a kizer sheepdog hopefully i can grab one.
@ 6:39 “Kara-istics” of the knife ….. Having your love on your mind is a wise trait & a great “characteristic” to emit to your audiences, cute, lol ❤️❤️🗡️🗡️
Silly question but what's the main issue with detent lash? Is it a personal thing like other "fit & finish" issues, or is there some chance of danger or malfunction?
Not a big fan of Outdoor Edge, their SlideWinder was a disappointment for me due to constant jamming. It's a decent budget brand I suppose, but I've seen many complaints form other people as well. Even yours has detent lash. But that Divo is really nice, but the QSP is what I like the most. Awesome knife. Straight to my wishlist.
i got 1 of the outdoor edge knives to try and imo it really wasnt wurth it if u have any idea how to sharpen (even a pull through). they went dull so fast thwt in a month of using it and buying replacements u could buy a much better knife thatl hold a much better edge.
Dothey make that aluminum raccoon with the crossbar lock? I'm definitely going to grab one as long as they don't have a ridiculous price hike for the upgrade
I’ve been waiting for an aluminum Raccoon… but why did they have to go and ruin it with steel liners? I don’t care if they’re nested. There’s something about a solid handled knife that makes it feel (and sound) much more premium. And steel liners make the blade bounce more when closed, making it harder to close and less safe. There’s a reason the Protech Malibu is so popular. And don’t tell me it can’t be done at a lower price because Kizer Original and Sencut Serene. Listen up knife makers. No steel liners unless absolutely necessary for stiffness. And on a knife this size, a solid handle could be pretty much anything (except maybe micarta): aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber, G10, Richlite.
I love everything about my Vosteed Racoon EXFEPT the handle. Its too dam small and that stupid little angled cut at the back end where my pinky goes makes the knife feel like its squirting out of my hand. Yes you can choke up on it but the handle is just a bad design. Otherwise its an amazing knife. Id love to see them make one with a hole instead of the thumb studs too. And maybe make it BIGGER. Im sick of all these 3" and less knives.
The concept of "never sharpen your knife again" is kimda dumb. For the price of the replacement packs depending on how often you use the blades could add up pretty quick and you could buy an Arkansas stone and just sharpen a normal knife.
There's no point in even looking at a Divo knife. I don’t think they actually make them, I've never seen onecin stock and at this point I'll never look again.
@NeevesKnives Thanks, I had just checked White mountain but not blade HQ. It just gets aggravating on a regular basis. There's so many knives that I've wanted to get that just never seem to be available.
Very interesting replaceable blade pocket knife, I like how they are finding ways to make razorblades more than just a razor blade. Honestly it would be a good beater knife if the price is right. As for the Raccoon, I love mine and will always enjoy it but I definitely wish they started with the aluminum handles and cross bar lock, now I need to get that variant whenever it becomes available.

Could never get into knives with replaceable blades. At this point just get a $5 box cutter.

@airadaimagery692 if it suits your purpose, then great.
Honestly I don’t think it’s bad for people who want to carry a pocket knife but don’t want to learn how to sharpen.
Liner lock. Pass 👎🏻

That Divo Knives Nip does it for me for some reason. Such a good looking small factor little guy 💯🔥
That qsp looks sick. Cool colors, a little different so not boring, but still with a normal and usable shaped handle and blade. I want one.
That VX is pretty dope. Similar principle to the Olfa bladed cutters I use. Vouch for the Nip. Spectacular little knife!
I'm an OLFA guy too... I run the XL in my tool bags and have been using them for over a decade.
just grabbed a frag aluminum raccoon, and the updated button lock versions are definitely improved
Kevin and Colin are just sending out straight fire. They know what’s up, being real knife guys themselves and not just edgeless corporate drones.
Divo keeps coming out with cool designs. I hope I can get a Growler V2. Hope they ship more of em.
Are you ok Jerad? That was a pretty weak "BANG". 😆 🤣
The Stonewash on the Racoon is 👌👌👌👌
Love the divo variant you got! Ive been trying to find a small pocket knife with purple for a gift that is not a kizer sheepdog hopefully i can grab one.
Thanks for the info bro bro 👊
I've had an Outdoor Edge VX2 for about a week - first blade broke.
Feels like I should just buy a three pack of Husky box cutters from Home Depot.

Love that Nip
The Outdoor Edge knife is good idea if one can’t sharpen.
Silly question but what's the main issue with detent lash? Is it a personal thing like other "fit & finish" issues, or is there some chance of danger or malfunction?
Mostly just annoying if you care, it can get worse over time in some cases but no it doesn't hurt the function
This is the way

First in! I really like the first one!!

They have them at white mountain knives often, they have some available at blade hq rt now
