I used to do a weekly food shop and would make videos each week to show what I was buying and making in the UK. Some supermarkets i feel the fresh produce goes off a lot quicker like Asda and Morrisons. With fresh meat I used to put it in the freezer as the dates aren't long. There is the long life milk but the fresh goes off in a few days there.
I think they are going to be putting the age up again for the pension age unfortunately. When my Mum retired she was 60 but they changed the age again.
One good thing about the NHS pensions is when everyone retires, if they have paid enough years they will get about 12,000 namibian dollars a month and free treatment etc. I was shocked to see Namibians only get 1000 dollars a month here 😰 i think also with private pensions not being taxed if you take the money out they will have to take the tax out. I think there is a small window that you can take the money out or opt out. But not with the universal pension. That comes out at source as it pays for the NHS, pensions, benefits like child benefit, disability etc.
I agree about neighbours, there isnt the community spirit like there is here. I agree about people queuing in the UK tor shops, buses, taxis etc.
I agree about ignorance. You are right about being mindful about everything. There are fines or penalties for almost everything there 😥 the agreements are usually on lots of papers too 🤣 One good thing is banking is free there and I like the ease of sorting things out. I used to work at Barclays. I feel the fees here is a lot and its not easy to sort things out. Thanks for sharing 🥰

Wow nice, yeah in Namibia old age pension last I checked was 1.2 and it’s for everyone above 60 years wether they ever worked in their life or never. But it’s always good to experience different countries that’ll help you appreciate what you have or where you’re

@@Esthersbucketlist yes you are so right. With the state pension if people havent worked they will get a certain amount i think maybe 6,000 namibia dollars or more.but the more years paid the more one can get. Im going to keep paying mine from here a small amount every month to send back. What is great is the child benefit they give people every month, even if one isnt working, they put a year on your pension. So it can accumilate to 16 years from birth to 16 when they finish school. The can end up being at the moment about £80 (1600 nam dollars a week) then any extra years will accumulate up to a maximum currently £185.00 a week ( about 3700 nam). The system is very good especially for people who are disabled, elderly, single parents or anyone struggling. I miss that element as health insurance is expensive here. Maternity pay is good in the uk too and support for Mothers. Sorry for the long message ❤

@@SimoneAlana yeah tell me about the maternity part, when you’re expecting a baby you can call in work sick and you are not expected to submit a drs sick note or anything and they give you lighter work at work , you’re given special treatment 🙂I like that
