I am a producer in Nashville and been wondering if anyone has an extended video on comping vocals in Reason 13. They moved some things around and not 100% sure how to get the job done. Excellent video my friend. I am new to your channel but have been watching quite a bit, so thanks for the great content!
@@A_iZ Something about actual arrangement of the song, ideally using Reason's blocks mode? There's surprisingly very little info about it on YT. It's mostly sound design & patching :)
@@Artek604 hmm unfortunately i don't really use block mode. I only use the blocks to label sections. I usually arrange a song as I'm writing it and don't typically duplicate sections 100% so block mode isn't something that's part of my workflow.
Great demo. I’d love to see them get Mike & Keys, DJ Battlecat, E. Jones, !llmind, DJ Khalil and more guys to show the power of Reason in urban genres.
@@gainesdominique As much as people moan & groan about it (including me, admittedly), it’s truly powerful and deserves representation from all the producers across all genres that make bangers with it. Battlecat should’ve been did one. Shout out to Mike and Keys and MyGuyMars for representing for their generation
I feel you. I like to see more musical genres of music being created. I respect those that make what they make... but why not see and hear more soulful musical creations being made with your daw of choice? Why not see Dj Battlecat make a full album with @Reason Studios? Maybe because we can't afford him? Maybe because we would get to see his vsts of choice as well as the way that he uses his outboard gear? Would they be able to convince @Easy Mo Bee or @Dj Premier to use @Reason Studios and make serious placement worthy tracks? What about Q-Tip? What about Poke and Tone? What about No I.D? What about Lil Jon? Would the premiere producers of yesterday be willing to change their workflow to try the program out for 3-6 months? It would be awesome to see them learn it and teach Masterclass sessions using @Reason Studios. But I'm very aware that I'm a dreamer. Thank you for reading this.
@@DL-1 I get it but will never happen, hell battlecat still uses his og rack from back in the day. Reason would be a good switch for him. It would be dope to get a Reason rack extension of his favorite racks he used.. But in all honesty, most people don't use reason anymore, especially as a full daw they shot themselves in the foot, and then Abelton came and took over.
The world doesn't need another EDM song or any other. But there are many people who are interested in how these things are produced. The world doesn't need any more podcasts or cars or electronic toothbrushes. You could write something like what you wrote under any video on any topic. Just comment on what you like. It saves time and energy for you and others.
I have a beef with Reason 12 which I am currently paying a monthly subscription for. The previous versions of Reason allowed for Rewire mode with a host, the most powetful thing ever, and, this allowed for Reason to be used in its full capacity. This means you could use the sequencers and note tracks, as in... you could make a pattern in Redrum, and then "Copy Pattern To Track", which would copy that pattern to Reason's track below, and you could easily edit the events. Reason's Track editor is the best around, and way better and easier on the eyes than Ableton Live 11's. With the subscription supplied Reason Rack, you cannot utilize any of the Track features... all you get is the RACK. This means you have to copy the MIDI events of a pattern and paste it into your host, effectively making each Rack instance really only suitable for one VST plugin, one track. No more could you use Reason as a standalone while being Rewire'd to the host. Everything had instead become a more tedious per-track plugin flow, and it relies entirely on your host's MIDI editing. Reason Standalone was awesome, because the MIDI editing was the best there is, and Rewire made it the absolute most powerful way to create tracks in Reason while adding Audio tracks within the host application. The ONLY way I would consider Reason 13 is if it brought back Rewire and allowed me to be able to edit MIDI events in the Reason Tracks, I would support it. There are so many scenarios where I want to use Reason for the main song creation while utilizing my host for adding 3rd party VST effects and automation on that creation as well as adding additional Audio tracks in the host for that song. Users may not fully want to create the entire song all within Reason. Propellerhead needs to offer Rewire capability again! Rewire also had significant performance gains. When you use Reason with Rewire for so many years as a professional, it becomes difficult to get into the flow of Reason Rack, and only one instance per instrument track, and with limited functions. Anyone who has used Reason as a standalone could agree it has amazing MIDI editing compared to anything else out there, but we still need to be given the ability to incorporate those features while using our host of choice. Trying to make Reason an all-in-one solution might not be the best approach given that the past had a method that was way ahead of its time.. and if it wasn't broken, why fix it and charge people monthly to use a limited Rack? We are tired of Pay To Play models.
If reasons would : make the Sequencer Part of its Production more Open and Faster is mind Boggling Add a Hover and Zoom Feature to the Mixer so you can see more of whats going on Update the Mixer to a Black SSL 4000 E And Add Drag and Drop for your Plugins right in the DAW instead of having to place them in Racks Add the Tool Bar to right side of your Procuction Screen like Cubase 12 and 13 And update all of the native Plugins in Reasons Add Multi Track Exporting as an Option and being able to send out a Mp3 and Wave at the same time I think these 7 or 8 Changes would pretty much make Reasons the DAW out there But they are way to busy trying to make the Program "Look like its been overhauled" instead of actually doing it You guys might have to loose some money for 2 years to then start making money to stop the business from running itself in the Ground and everyone leaving your guys for Ableton, FL Studio, Bitwig, Cubase and Studio One....LOL

Always figured it was because you can use Reason 11/12/13 as a Rack Plugin in a compatible host DAW

If you want to run Reason and Ableton at the same time, you can use Ableton Link. Reason has it. It'll sync both DAW clocks.
If reasons would :
make the Sequencer Part of its Production more Open and Faster is mind Boggling
Add a Hover and Zoom Feature to the Mixer so you can see more of whats going on
Update the Mixer to a Black SSL 4000 E
And Add Drag and Drop for your Plugins right in the DAW instead of having to place them in Racks
Add the Tool Bar to right side of your Procuction Screen like Cubase 12 and 13
And update all of the native Plugins in Reasons
Add Multi Track Exporting as an Option and being able to send out a Mp3 and Wave at the same time
I think these 7 or 8 Changes would pretty much make Reasons the DAW out there
But they are way to busy trying to make the Program "Look like its been overhauled" instead of actually doing it
