I admit that initially i was disappointed in the decision. I realised i didn't educate myself on why. I decided to listen into some of the stations and i also looked at this in detail. I still see where there would be value but that MOU was terribly structured to the benefit to the external party and not to TnT. Whilst its an MOU it is still a clear intent. Good video and very factual.

Now that the project is no more it tells us that how lame our professional class are they continue to fail us. Also the lies that they are peddling us ordinary people and we are accepying it and the quicker especially Tobago stop listening to clowns like Cruikshank who tells us that a butler gets US $5000 a month Teacher Percy needs to talk to him

I don't think MOU's are legally binding and they typically don't get into any specifics. How are they going to implement the work permits? "expediency" doesn't mean rubber stamping. I would imaging that local employment would be a priority for the government so certain steps would have to be taken before any work permit would be granted; I would have to see more specifics to cast judgment. This presentation leaves me with more questions than answers; I think it's premature. Good luck !

It still says a lot. I agree that clauses in an MOU may not be legally binding but the clauses outlined are in favour of Sandals. How are they going to breach a clause allowing them to avoid taxes? By paying it? How are they going to avoid a clause allowing them to hire whoever they want? By hiring people they don't want? How are they going or avoid a clause allowing them to purchase resources from whevever they want? You get the idea.
The only power our government will have it to not approve work permits for foreign nationals to work here. How are we going to force them to hire locals when they hold all the financial power with zero risk taken?
Also, do you really believe that the MOU would not impact the final contract agreement?
I agree this raises a lot of questions but it has answered enough to prove that this project in its intended form was a horrible idea.

started to listen but when from the beginning all I hear is some pompous arrogant person attempting to sound intelligent I leave. Eugene Raymond must be turning in his grave where this fella is concerned. what an ignoramus. There are 16 Sandals hotels in the Caribbean all of which has impacted positively to each Caribbean country. This guy and others have run Sandals from Tobago. Bright guy.
