This pattern is more symbolic of marriage than the traditional pattern. Through the years, the constant, the solid, is (YOU + ME). Everything that happens every day are the scraps (kids, pets, meals, extended family, friends, under-the-quilt time, public time, work, school, home interior, home exterior, hobbies, events, fights, inside jokes, losses, travel, illness, all of LIFE). I ❤️ ❤❤it!
Yet another winning video. Your quirky, endearing personality coupled with your immense creativity never fail to impress! Congratulations again, Dave, on a perfectly entertaining watch!
Just a hint. For the inside curves, the reason you had some problem in those corners is that you need to snip the inside seam before turning it inside out. It's one of those tricks you learn from clothing construction.
Another winner! And I noticed, when you just had the rows of “eyes” on the board, that they looked really cool and weird by themselves. What about a mad eyes quilt?
Love it! I will try it. A suggestion I learned from sewing clothes, whenever I came to a corner I would make one stitch across the corner instead of turning it. That one stitch made turning it inside out easier.
Wow, Dave, I'm in awe! Sometimes I spend so much time overthinking HOW, that I let my creative self-become paralyzed! I love to watch you because you sew fearlessly. You finger pinned all 99 {or so} football shapes. and I an inspired to see how I can use fewer pins. Loved this video. Beautiful quilt!
Love the way you reversed the pieced portions and the background. It turned out quite stunning. Looking at it made me think it would be so much faster to just applique the black rings onto the scrap quilt. Love it.
Another play on the Wedding Ring Quilt, it doesn't look like a typical scrappy quilt as most of us know them, this is beautiful, your thought and creative process lead us into another path, thank you.
Beautiful quilt Dave! Just a tip on selling on eBay auctions. If you end your auctions on a weekend they will reach more people at the crucial time. Meaning if you start a 7 day auction on say Sunday it will end on the weekend and be at the first of the auctions where more people will see it. Many bidders will wait until the last minute to bid. I sold on eBay for several years. Just an FYI. ❤
Love it! Genius idea to sew the scraps to adding machine tape to stabilise- I usually only make scrappy borders with the tape, but this is another great option. Thank you!
Curiously enough doing it reversed, the small pieces in the center and melons and the black solid in the arches makes this traditional piece very modern. I love how it came out. ❤
Beautiful! I really love the black, I can't remember ever seeing that before. BTW I have a double wedding ring quilt made by my great-grandmother, probably made around the 1930s.
I would love to see a tutorial if you have one of your quilting process. It is so unique and I have never seen it done before. Love quilting, the binding is always hard for me, so if I have method that sidesteps that, that would be amazing.
I love the way you reversed the patched area I must try it ,oh and if you clip the inside curve it should help with that tight curb, your quilt is fantastic
Fabulous… I love how you show your process! You could put a little 3M Command hook on the smaller pieces of template, it will help you hold the template sturdy as a handle….and bonus… keeps fingers out of the way!
After watching you make this, now I want to try my hand at makimg one!! It's a favorite quilt pattern, but haven't done many curves. Makes me feel like it's doable!! Another amazing quilt! ❤
Another great job Dave!! Your attention to detail (fussy cutting) in a scrappy quilt makes you the bomb! 💣[showing my age again!! lol] It's gorgeous. Thanks for another entertaining Tuesday evening!
I've watched and liked every quilt you've posted over the last year. You motivated me and I finished 2 complete quilts and 8 ufo tops some even are pinned, ready to be either machine or hand quilted - mostly so I wouldn't loose the pieces. NOW you have me drooling for this quilt. I hope you don't mind if I make this quilt my own by copying it. I've got a whack of scraps - my own mount scrap more. Your way of seeing things and putting them together in amazing, thanks again Dave. Keep up the great work. ps: how much black did you need?
Love it. And the fussy cutting on that skeleton; chef’s kiss. I’ve been looking for a way to showcase some Tula pink fabrics (Alice and Queen of Hearts faces). Do you think this would work if I swapped out the black for black and white prints? Or a different quilt; with black and white where you have scrappy and bright solids for the rings?
To quickly mark the center of a fabric piece is fold in half and nip a tiny notch, no fiddling with pins or marker. Notch curves to get them to lay flat and smooth.
dave! love your work and videos (: did you ever figure out why the extra black square is needed instead of one bigger piece? this always confused me about wedding ring quilts. I guess it makes more sense when youre piecing the rings..all the best!
Fabulous Dave!! Have you seen Victoria Findlay Wolfe's wedding ring quilts? She "deconstructs" them into amazing, bold combinations. I think you would like her work (and it may inspire you to use your templates again!)
Here's some food for thought. Make some money as an artist! So many of us love you and your quilting style. We'd jump at the chance to buy one of your art pieces, but we only have so many beds and we're not rolling in dough. What if you made wall hangings to show and sell for the next year or so? Fans could start their collections. As you make a name for yourself as an artist, people with big bucks will come looking for full-size quilts. I believe your work will be very collectable in the not-so-distant future.

I did snip them 😉
Well done, you inspire me to just go for it and let my imagination reign supreme. No judgment only creativity. ❤ Koodoos
I have never had to clip these curves. They are quite gentle
Nice!
Excellent!
Another winner! And I noticed, when you just had the rows of “eyes” on the board, that they looked really cool and weird by themselves. What about a mad eyes quilt?
Yes i love your creativity and capacity to work so hard, but especially love the great haircut!
Love it! I will try it. A suggestion I learned from sewing clothes, whenever I came to a corner I would make one stitch across the corner instead of turning it. That one stitch made turning it inside out easier.
This is the way! Especially if you don't want to weaken the seam by clipping into it. That one stitch across the inner point makes everything perfect!
Love the skeleton knees in the anatomically correct position!!
Way to push those footballs into the end zone! 😂
Thank you Dave, you’re a wonderful creative quilter! And you have great taste in music, your background music, I truly enjoyed 👏🏽👏🏽🫶🏾😊
I always love the music choices that Dave makes for the videos!
Love how you think outside the box. The black rings are stunning
THIS IS POPPIN' that black made this MASTERPIECE POP!!
You have such a creative mind!! This quilt is beautiful.

I like your version of the Double Wedding Ring.
Wonderful…. I’m in awe…. Again, no surprise there! 🥰
Stained glass & wedding ring…… hm…. Both churchy. You’re fantastic!! xoxo e. N. B. 🇨🇦
This reminds me so much of stained glass… definitely not your typical scrap quilt! 💚
Love your creative ideas and how you do not allow a small issue ruin your day.

Amazing - as always. I never heard of a reverse double wedding ring - but - why not?? And, it’s wonderful!!!
Curiously enough doing it reversed, the small pieces in the center and melons and the black solid in the arches makes this traditional piece very modern. I love how it came out. ❤
Love this quilt. The one skeleton piece is genius. Also enjoyed the jazz today.
Beautiful! I really love the black, I can't remember ever seeing that before. BTW I have a double wedding ring quilt made by my great-grandmother, probably made around the 1930s.
I bought templates for wedding ring quilt too, I love the idea of putting scraps on the adding machine tape! Brilliant!
I would love to see a tutorial if you have one of your quilting process. It is so unique and I have never seen it done before. Love quilting, the binding is always hard for me, so if I have method that sidesteps that, that would be amazing.
I really like this reverse pattern. Will probably choose this one over the traditional pattern. Thanks, Dave.
Genius! As always. Dave, I was hoping to see your mom on your videos over the holidays - hope she is well and gets to come visit with us soon!
I love the way you reversed the patched area I must try it ,oh and if you clip the inside curve it should help with that tight curb, your quilt is fantastic
Wow. Your quilts are over the edge. How Ebay does it justice. Keep up the great work
I like the black as the circles much better than the usual 2X wedding quilt.
Gorgeous art as always. My little punk heart is dying to make and black a plaid version of this now. Thank you for the inspration.
I enjoy watching your videos. You do a great job. Thanks for the inspiration not just of this quilt but on others that you do.
What a beautiful quilt you have great creativity keep it up
Fabulous… I love how you show your process!

Awesome Dave! I think I like this one better than the original
Love the reverse with the solid as the rings. I also love the use of scrap/crumb piecing for the 'background'. Happy New Year Dave!
Perfect as usual. Davitized!! Bid made!
SOOPER COOL. I REALLY like the black. Love the crumbs, great tour of Dave’s previous 100 +/- quilts!!! ❤
How’s your Mom? I enjoy your videos when you collaboration with her. Wish my Mom was a still alive to do projects with her.
After watching you make this, now I want to try my hand at makimg one!! It's a favorite quilt pattern, but haven't done many curves. Makes me feel like it's doable!! Another amazing quilt! ❤
U should have 500000 followers...Great channel. I don't even quilt...or sew. Love your personality. ❤
o! thank you! sewing the row zigzag is genius!
That shape you cut the adding machine strips with could also make some good fishies.
Happy New Year!!! Hope you were able to visit with your mom!!! Hope you have her on your show again she is awesome :)
Wow! That's beautiful. You just showed how to finish one of my Double wedding ring quilt tops. Thank you so much.
So Awesome!! Love the black surrounding your scrappy centers! Love watching and learning from your art and design process. Thanks for sharing!
Did I tell you I love "every other Tuesday?" That quilt is amazing. Did you put a dent in your scraps? 😅
Another great job Dave!! Your attention to detail (fussy cutting) in a scrappy quilt makes you the bomb! 💣[showing my age again!! lol] It's gorgeous. Thanks for another entertaining Tuesday evening!
Beautiful. I hope you make a lot on the sale!
Absolutely stunning quilt
You have brought me back to the fun of quilting. Thanks!
The black just makes it pop well done again 😊

Great idea, wonderful but the black is a bit strong - maybe a dark grey.
Hope Ebay does the quilt justice
AMAZING!!!!!
dave! love your work and videos (: did you ever figure out why the extra black square is needed instead of one bigger piece? this always confused me about wedding ring quilts. I guess it makes more sense when youre piecing the rings..all the best!
yeah I guess it's because they expect you to piece a different color in their :-/
Awesome!
Another great inspiration. Check out Victoria Findlay Wolfe’s double wedding ring quilts/books. She won an award for her Double Edged Love quilt
I still want to buy the Hokusai quilt
ALWAYS a surprize in your quilts ))) A skeleton???? WHat??? in a wedding ring??? well, ok. Its a DAvid and it will be fabulous when complete. )))
I love that. A David; quilt version of a Banksy 😀
I love it. Does she have a name?
Yum!
WOW!
Fabulous Dave!! Have you seen Victoria Findlay Wolfe's wedding ring quilts? She "deconstructs" them into amazing, bold combinations. I think you would like her work (and it may inspire you to use your templates again!)

One more time, you have to snip the corners.
