Would you recommend this for a car that sees road use or is it too soft / noisy?

How has the poly got on with age? My concern is that it’ll have lots of swirling as plastic eventually goes and it will affect visibility?

That's a nice addition. But does removing all the weight from the rear of the car (seats, glass, etc) mess with the overall weight distribution?

Yes it does but there's pros and cons. Less overall weight is always better but weight distribution is important. It's hard to remove weight off the front of the E46 M3. I can "add" weight to the rear with a few more gallons of gas or going with a heavier battery.

@@SeanS54 the only true solution to regaining the weight distribution is rear mount radiator or moving the fuel tank way back
Are there any disadvantages to having all the glass replaced with polucarbonate on a street car?
Does it work with the electric windows and what about the way light goes through is it any different??

I see here you've cut your rear parcel shelf panel out, I was told even with a half cage not to do that but I guess the car has enough bracing now?

You don't need the fasteners. I just had a windshield guy install it like regular glass with an adhesive and OEM moulding.

Good to know Big Jae. I'm glad I didn't have to install bracing/straps.

@@SeanS54 You might have to. That back window is probably going to flex and wobble at higher speeds. I just riveted 2 pieces of flat aluminum to the roof and the bottom on the window flange.

Where did you pick the windshield from?

When did you remove the rear parcel shelf?

I cut that out years ago... my welded half cage makes the rear parcel shelf redundant

Just remember, no UV protection! Hopefully the paint on your cage doesn't fade :(

The polycarbonate windows have UV protection. My car is a dedicated track car and doesn't see much sun unless it's a track day. Also, I put a fresh coat of paint on my cage. :-)
