Just subscribed to the channel I have a model y long range and I just want to say that wrap is bad ass love the touch of black that you added as well great work I need to get mine wrapped have a great day stay safe and always be blessed
Subscribed, thanks for the uploads on the Y's. I plan on wrapping my on-order Y next spring. A vid on tools you use would be quite useful if you're up for sharing. i.e., I can guess a few tools, or likely overbuy but knowing what has been useful to you would be useful to newbs like me.
hey JD, great work as always! how do you go about removing the side cover reflecting taillights? hope that make sense. mainly looking to remove the passenger side.
I like your videos, your method of tackling it is nice as well. Do you plan doing a video on how you hand the decals and the side cameras? Lastly, how long does it normally take you on average to wrap a Y?
Subbed. I will be working on my MYP soon and your videos are REALLY HELPFUL!! if I were to wrap my tesla, how much material will I need? Is 72 inches x 20 Feet enough?
Great work. There are two places where I had questions, both about inlay/overlay/relief cuts: the charge port and the horizontal relief cut on the front bumper. Couldn't both be pulled off in the one larger sheet for the panel?
I'll ask a different way: 1. Was it necessary to do the front bumper in two large pieces, and one inlay? It looks like it would be easy to do the inlay in the bottom recess, and then tackle the entire surface of the bumper in one piece, rather than having a seam at the horizontal bumper line. 2. Under the charge port lid, you used a small piece, rather than manipulating the quarter panel piece into that inlay. Is that because there is a gasket that separates the metal under the charge port cover from the quarter panel?
@@DadYouNeverHad I think this the best way to do the bumper with the most minimal amount of stretch.. For the charge port I believe it makes much more sense to do an inlay because it would be very hard to lift the charge port lid with all that extra material you would need to tuck in that area. It’s already difficult with the 1-2cm I leave as it is
@@GdayFraz I ask because I don't like seams. I don't wrap for a living - or even a hobby - just for my own vehicles. The way I look at the stretch for the two areas I mentioned is that the vinyl has to stretch minimally in both - which is why it's so easy to do in that front bumper. I can't see a failure happening in the front bumper particularly if you kept it to one piece. Thanks for your reply!
Do I want to sacrifice my Tesla for vinyl wrap, No WAY. Does it look nice, YES. Will Tesla cover the warranty if there is something wrong with the windows, sound system etc. I doubt it after all have been done to this car.
You did an excellent job. Initially wasn't sure about the color but the finished product looks great.
Beautiful! I did not think I would like the colour but I do👍
Can’t wait for you continued how-to series!

Model Y looks so cool in this wrap

Thanks for the support, glad you enjoyed the video. I’m a Tesla owner as well, a wrap is a great addition!
That's Hot!!!!! I am thinking about wrapping my Tesla when it comes.
Awesome as always! Wish u was here in ILLINOIS

Great idea. Maybe I’ll redo my “what to know before you wrap a Tesla” vid and the tools to it
I'll look up that vid, Thanks
Hy, how much wrap film do you need? Your wrap looks very nice 👌😉

@@SaintsAutos on most models it can’t be removed without snapping a tab. I’ll usually double side tape it back on. I advise clients ahead of time
i see. thank you bro. would you just pry it from the sides with a plastic tool panel remover?
you should be able to access two tabs from the trunk area then try to gently pry the third from the outside
I like your videos, your method of tackling it is nice as well. Do you plan doing a video on how you hand the decals and the side cameras? Lastly, how long does it normally take you on average to wrap a Y?
Maybe. There are a decent amount of videos out there for the cameras. They break easily so I don’t want to be responsible for people having issues
how long does it take to break the car down with disassembly in real time? Same for reassembly? Awesome stuff, man!
Hour or two for both!
@@GdayFraz Nice, thanks brotha!
amazing skills bro. ❤
Gorgeous!
Great work👍
What is the brand of your wheel chocks?
Amazing work
How do you know where to cut once you do the inlay?

75ft x 60in
Why 2 pieces for the trunk?

I guess I don’t understand the question

Do you use Gloss or Satin black for the pillars?
This was satin
Wow you are awesome great job
😎
Super 👍 iam from Germany… mega nice 👍👍
How does the wrap on the door panel not lift while u take the excess off the door handle @ 12:01
I cut the edges
Awesome
How long of a 5ft wide vinyl do you typically need to wrap a Model Y?
Without mistakes I believe it’s 54 ft
@@GdayFraz Gotcha, thanks for the reply! Loving all of your videos!
Beautiful
What is that going to look like in 4 years?? Can you go thru a car wash?
🔥🔥🔥
With kpmf thiers really no reason to be two piecing the trunk, ive done it without any issues.
Great job 🤙🏻
It looks like a Duracell battery

I’ve never heard of anyone having an issue with a wrapped Tesla and warranty and I’m constantly in the forums
bro you think chinese vinyls is fine for new cars? that’s cheap but 3m is really expensive
I do not. I don’t recommend any Chinese film. It’s cheaper because you only get 60ft, it’s a hard pass for me
@@GdayFraz i was asking about quality. when to wrap & when u remove wrap chinese film
@@BMW_xDriveno it’s not fine for new cars imo
