the hollywood full lengths are the nun and the conjuring so it aint hard to beat those. i feel this film is well executed for an indie its just pretty uneventful. the same story beats repeat over and over. i watched a short called overtime the other day, ten minutes long and had more originality than this piece. loved the stunts and the shot selection though. script is lackin

I think this movie is superior in many ways, but I also think it's more fun to watch a movie, where you don't give a shit if the main characters die, because then you don't care about the characters and you can focus on other stuff. Though NHA proves, that that's not always the case. You can care about the main character(s) and have fun at the same time

Why was a half found footage, low as hell budget UA-cam crowdfunded movie not only one of the best sequels in the series, but also one of the best atmospheric, legit tens, pretty damn well acted from all involved and flat out scary movies in the series!! This should not be good but by god it's amazing and hard to even tell this was low budget youtube fan made! Truly feels like something a big studio made with a few million as a teaser prologue type film for a upcoming big movie. Take note Hollywood fans are getting pissed at half ass bad remakes and showing you up with literally the change under the sofa! Fuck this was awesome

What I love about this Jason is that his mask is FEATURELESS…no red marks, no axe mark….just a hockey mask…symbolizing that this Jason isn’t the same one we know….he’s a Jason that is new…and improved from the looks of it….
And another thing…a lot of survivors that are from Friday the 13th don’t react enough and just die (except a few like tommy) but this guy (Kyle) has guts, instincts and survival…it made me love this character…especially his hiking youtubish personality! ^^

Just seeing this comment now for some reason. This is such a great way to describe what we were going for. This Jason, Ghost Jason, is new. He has learned from previous films. He's not the same paint by numbers stalker slasher. There is more going on. There is more to lose. There are real consequences for his actions. The last thing Jason wants is for someone to get away and let the world know he stills exists. The outcome of this film is his worst fear come to life.
The acting is so great, the physical effects top notch. The character is realistic, and the story is unique within the Friday the 13th universe, and it is overall better than 95% of the slasher films I've seen in years. Even the score, cinematography and editing are superb. No complaints. This deserves to be a feature film. I'm excited to see what else this director will do.

This has become one of my favorite short films, I don't get tired of watching it.
All I can say is wow! This film is amazing. It's actually so good that it ranks higher than a lot of the actual Friday the 13th movies in my favorites list. You guys definitely have something special here. Sean Cunningham and Victor Miller need to take notice and reach out to the individuals who made this film in an effort to bring something like this to the big screen.

I have never seen a full Friday The 13th movie, but after this I will. This is absolutely amazing. I was so invested in the movie and all the characters. Jason is actually scary in this. I love this movie. Great cinematography, action, makeup, special effects, music, everything. And to top it all off, its free. If I where to buy a ticket and watch this in theaters, I would leave EXTREAMLY satisfied. I only wish this movie was longer
We stretched our budget as far as we could, but we'll have a chance to really flex our muscles in the sequel!

I love the "The Shining" style intro and foreview of the lake, and the way they add a sound effect to Jason's footsteps to make him look like a titan (even if that sometimes remind me Cell from Dragon Ball Z) and the references to the movies, like the names of the rescue team members ( TOMMY F*****ING JARVIS IS BACK LADYES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!)

Can we appreciate how proactive and competent Kyle is? He doesn't just scream and run away; he actually goes back instead of risking death by infection, hides when he can, and fights back when he has to.
Kyle clearly took his outdoorsman training seriously. Probably excelled as a boy scout. Got all the badges.

Met Thom Matthews in Houston last month, and he hipped me to this flick! Incredible work, all around. Doesn’t feel like a cheap fan film at all…this seems like a well made, lovingly shot, professional flick all around. The tension that runs throughout is palpable, and really offered more thrills than 90% of today’s horror films. Great job!
Second time here, this film absolutely destroys some of the cannon ones and I 100% consider it a part of the franchise. Also the actor who plays Kyle needs to blow up. Dude is great and I love the fact you guys got Thom involved! "Remeber me, maggot head??" 😁😁😁

This was REALLY REALLY good! Great main character, slowly built horror that pays off. Short and to the point. With a likable and intelligent main character. And of course there are the fantastic effects. Everyone who was involved with the creation of this short movie should of been the ones to make the remake of Friday the 13th. Can I just say how this Friday the 13th fan made film is awesome! It seriously puts Hollywood and the studios to shame. This is by far the best I’ve seen. Jason looks so kick ass it’s hard to see this guy as a frightening serial killer. Amazing job guys. And I’ve now rewatched this like a dozen times already. This is how good I found it.
A bit slow paced but it actually built the main character and suspense. I liked how those numbers were laid around and you knew exactly what was there before. Good how you brought it into urban exploration modern horror, and the actor was good too. Interesting how having a competent main character actually made the movie better.

Excellent job! The film's weakness comes at the end when we meet the paramedics, but that part of the story is balanced by what preceded it, along with some beautiful cinematography. Overall a fantastic job. I really enjoyed watching and appreciate the hard work that went into it.

My imagination was what led me to think of how visually compelling those little snippets would be if copyright were not an issue. Just little micro flashes, little bursts of nostalgia.

I like how when he's debating crossing the private property sign, Jason is just chilling, waiting on him to fuck up. Like "once you cross that line, your right to live is revoked." Jason just wants to be left the fuck alone.
I love that when Jason loses his mask it looks ugly as hell but doesn't reveal too much, that is great. It leaves just enough to the imagination.

I like the part where Jason teleports near Kyle at the ‘No Trespassing’ sign. In my opinion, it’s Jason’s way of telling him to turn around. He’s going to kill Kyle without mercy if he crosses, but he’s giving the kid a final warning.
Thank you for watching. Yes, that moment was a warning for Kyle to turn back / watch where he walks.
Another subtle context for the scene is how quickly Kyle is on his feet and ready to fight. He is armed with a knife and shows that he is formidable. With Jason being unarmed in the scene, he decides not to attack at risk of Kyle getting away. So, he lets him work his way deeper into the woods where he can corner him.

In the other movies, when ever the characters got caught by Jason, they sat there and were waiting to die, but in this one, the guy fckn booked it and actually fought back

This was the absolute best of the Friday the 13th movies. I loved the fact it was the survivalist vs. Jason. He gave Jason everything he had and didn't quit. Didn't run off screaming even though he knew he didn't stand a chance. I only wish it was a bit longer. Hopefully we see Kyle McLeod again. Would love a sequel.

Cut the guy a break. His leg, arm, and stomach got messed up pretty bad...especially the stomach. Even with the book in the way, the blade went in deep. I feel it would be best if he just...stayed out of those woods in particular. Plenty of other areas to wander around in.

I've seen a few Friday the 13th fan made films but this one is, by far, the best, no debate. Shot really well, looks really good. Acting is great. Very impressive stuff. This is very inspiring. Seeing these great kinds of films is a reminder, to me, that it is not impossible and i, myself, can do this, too.
Only difference is, I want to create an original concept, with an original villain character.

I love the way Jason is shown in this, I’d always ask myself during the films, “where does he get all this stuff?” And this shows that he just stocks up a crap ton of different sharp items around the camp. And I love it!

This is not one of them, not by a long shot.
The attention to detail, the cinematography, locations, all completely on point.
I live in the town the original Friday the 13th was partially filmed in, and I don’t think I could ask for a better tribute at all.

Many years late, but you've absolutely nailed this film. Only one hour, but with far more suspense and atmosphere than every other entry. You've got the special effects, the cinematography, the acting, the Jason (both body and mind done really well), humour that isn't over the top camp or parody, and it is telling a totally unique story without being predictable at all. Everything you need to make the perfect Friday film. No other main entry has had all of these. And this small indie fan film has got it all in buckets.
I am so pumped for the sequel(s?)!

I love how Kyle finds areas with number labeled ribbons showing that’s where Mrs. Voorhees murdered the camp counselors in the first movie. That’s very smart.

If you kickstart a sequel I'll definitely donate. This thing is so well done. Puts to shame the last few Friday films. The people who made this know what a proper Friday the 13th film should be like. This is just incredible to see.

This was better than any newer horror films! Except maybe the nun, saw series, as below so above, paranormal activity, cabin 48, grave encounters 1 2&3 ( not really scary for sum, but is more hell than most realize). And a few other indi films I’ve seen that were creepy as fuck. But this movie kills most Hollywood films for the last 15 years....n that’s pathetic!

Well done, so well done! The score, the suspense, and the 'tour' of the decaying Camp Crystal. I'm still not used to influencers being a part of movies but it was still a good addition. Easily could contend with any big rate horror movie, there was so much effort and love in this. I hope they're proud, because I certainly would be.

The footsteps are a bit much. They were trying to sell that Jason was much bigger than the actor actually was, I get that, but it feels like he had softer footsteps in Freddy vs Jason.

The minute I heard “Hey maggot head!” I had a flashback of tommy on that John boat luring Jason out into the way with that rock and chain. Damn. This is the way you do fan service.
