In Aladdin, he was the Genie, and he was brilliant!
💯
Definitely. That was one of my favorites of his.
He was brilliant as the Genie & he "supposidly" ad - libbed it.
He's brilliant in everything
One of his lesser known movies, "What Dreams May Come" with Annabella Sciorra, Cuba Gooding Jr, has the best depiction of both Heaven and Hell that's ever made it to the big screen. After watching that film, everyone has a keen understanding of just what true love really is. This was the fillm he did between Good Will Hunting and Robots, the film from this segment.
What dreams may come is one of the saddest movies I’ve ever watched in my entire life. Although very good.❤️✌️🌼
He was so amazing in What Dreams May Come! ❤️
The awakening with Robin Williams and Robert Di Niro. Brilliant movie based on reality.
@debratuchman9569 oh yes
Incredible movie and Robin played a mild even meek tempered Doctor to perfection showed another side to his phenomenal acting
Yes, Williams sadly took his life in 2014. His wife later revealed he'd been suffering from symptoms of Lewy body dementia. Such an incredible loss we still feel today. He made so many great movies and brought to life such an incredible range of characters. It's hard to choose favorites, but if I had to, some of my personal picks are, Patch Adams (based on a true story), The Bird Cage, and Hook (he was the best Peter Pan ever). 💛
You said it ALL WELL Still to this DAY MISS Robin Williams on this earth ! He was a true Genius of LIFE!
Another underrated movie is " The Fisher King".
Please, please watch Dead Poets Society. As a teacher, his role exemplifies what I strive to be.
This movie... "Oh Captain, My Captain". His first deep role and it has stuck with me. Please watch
Gay? Sorry, couldn’t resist…😇
It broke my heart to hear of his passing.
The world is poorer with him not in it.
His was the celebrity death that hit me hardest. 😢
Same here, was totally not expecting it. This man was a genius.
The world is enriched thanks to his beauty being preserved for the world to enjoy for many generations to come.
When I was a child, the only way talent was being preserved was on film, which crumbles to dust in a few years.
Much wasn't kept, but recorded over, when they discovered reusable tape.
Now we have multiple means of storing entertainment which can be kept for centuries.
That Robin is gone is not the saddest part for me. For me, the saddest part is that he was in so much pain, and fear he preferred to be gone. 😢
I am sorry he suffered so much.
He was a treasure.
❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥
Robin Williams is one of two possibly three celebrities I truly mourned
I still miss him thankfully UA-cam has many videos I can watch of him
I love him on The Johnny Carson and Letterman Shows
There is also a hilarious clip of him on The Martha Stewart
Show. She's teaching him to cook
You must, must must watch
Good Will Hunting
Dead Poets Society
Mrs. Doubtfire
One Hour Photo
Too many to name
Very few actors can do both comedy and drama.
Robin is one of kind
RIP Robin Williams
My list is Robin Williams, Gene Wilder and Leonard Nimoy. Praying Dick Van Dyke lives forever.
@christinabrown8399 Great list
My other is Norm Macdonald
And I pray Dick Van Dyke lives forever
A really wonderful Robin Williams movie is The Fisher King.
SO many great movies that people now don't know about.
He passed away by suicide but it was because he had a form of Parkinson’s and losing his mental capacity and it upset him to that point! So sad!!! But he didn’t want to live without his brilliance! 😢
🧡 I remember being in college when Disney's Aladin was released. Watching the genie(Robin Williams) was amazing. He was singing and joking(I had to see that movie more than once just to catch all the jokes and one liners Robin would throw out there.) He must have been a dream for the animators to work with. As you said Jay, he could do so many characters, voices, etc.
Robin Willams is the only actor whose suicide made me feel so much pain like a close friend or family member had died wrongly. He deserved better. All over the world everyone was sad
I grew up watching Robin's movies and stand up, As well as the occasional late night interview. But the way he portrayed his characters helped forge some values. It felt like I lost a long distant uncle when he passed.
I felt the same!!
When I heard of Robin's death, I watched "Dead Poet's Society" and cried.
Has a gen x, he was very influential in my life and has shaped my humor. You are doing a great job reacting 🧡
HERE,HERE I Second this!
Robin Williams was brilliant. RIP
Bruh... you NEED to watch Mrs. Doubtfire! Hook, Dead Poet's Spciety, Patch Adams, The Bird Cage... just do it, you won't regret it!
You absolutely have to watch Robin's performance as the Genie in Aladdin!!
His stand up stuff is pure legend
Dead poets society his greatest serious performance. Good morning Vietnam - based on a real forces dj in the Vietnam war
🧡
Robin Williams was so amazing and a beautiful soul, rip, thank you for all you did.
If you can find any Mork and Mindy clips with Johnathan Winters as Mearth you'll be in for a great time
Insomnia was a great movie. Robin as a villain? Wow. And One Hour Photo. Creepy as hell.
He did commit suicide but it was caused by a horrible disease he had. It attacks the brain. No one knew he had it until the autopsy. They knew something was terribly wrong. There's a documentary about his disease you should watch. We love you Robin. Always ❤
I lived Robin Williams. It took me a few years to be sble to watch anything he was infir awhile. I still feel sad, though he was such a part of my life for so long. I also wish yoyd react to mire Queen songs, especially the whole Live Aid 20 minute set in 1985 and the live version of SOMEBODY TO LOVE in Montreal, 1981. There are so many more, people become obsessed after seeing how great ALL their songs were, different, not able to be put into a box and labeled. Freddie Mercury…gosh, do i miss him! RIP Freddue. Forever missed. ❤❤❤
The brightest smile too often hide the saddest soul. RIP Legend. You are missed for more than the laughs and feels you brought.
Yes Please watch an assortment of his movies he did it all. Yes Jay he was larger than life and was a tragic loss to the world.
He was Genie !!! the most epic Genie ever
I applaud you for your interest in the older generations and sharing the beauty of it to your channel, you clearly are an old soul with much to share .
🧡🧡🧡
To think your journey down this rabbit hole all started because you watched a video of Mr Rogers & Koko lol 🤯🧡 One of the things I love about your channel: you never know what door you’ll open from just watching a random clip.
So true! I so enjoy your rabbit holes!
If you ever watched _Night at the Museum_ then you would have seen Robin ... he played US President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt. 🧡
He brought a lot of attention to the disease that caused him to end his life.
His wife wrote a very good article about it.
There will never be another like him. He was always switched on when he was on screen.
As the genie in Aladdin, he was brilliant and legendary. Will Smiths version has nothing on Robin. He gave them over 30 hours of voice over footage that they could have made another film based on the genie. But Robin put it in his will that Disney wasn't to use any of the footage.
Good Morning Vietnam, Patch Adams and Mrs Doutbfire are three of my favourites.
He's so missed.
Be sure you check out Alladin.
It was for kids but his comedy certainly brought it to adult level, so many double entendres.
It's a don't miss!!
I was fortunate enough to have a great uncle who was a friend of his. I got to have the pleasure of meeting him and even had dinner with him the one evening. The man had the biggest, kindest heart. Still makes me sad to this day how things ended for him, we are far poorer as a people for not having him for longer. He could make people of all ages laugh, cheer, feelz and even cry like no other.
Aladdin was amazing.there is only one genie and that is Robin Williams. He also played Popeye in Popeye
My daughter who's in her thirties can go word for word with Aladdin, her favorite movie
Miss him... He made me actually laugh out loud back in the day. That doesn't really happen very often.
Improv should have a picture of Robin Williams as the definition lol. Watch the clips of him on Whose Line Is It Anyway for some of the best improv ever!
Robin Williams is a legend.
You should see “What Dreams May Come,” “Bicentennial Man,” “Final Cut,” and “One Hour Photo” … in that order.
Oh, and “The Bird Cage” somewhere in the middle of those.
I remember watching this Regis episode years ago. Huge fan of Robin 💙
I was in my late teens when I watched the pilot for Mork and Mindy the evening it first aired.
It was absolutely original. Robin was unknown to most of us.
The very next day, nanoo, and rainbow 🌈 suspenders were the hottest new trends. People everywhere were greeting each other with the Ork handshake. Soon, eggs were a topic and the conversations had nothing to do with cholesterol. 😂
Robin was an amazing new talent. We were very excited about him, but we were completely oblivious to just how far he would take us.
Thankyou, Robin, for all the wonderful gifts you left us. 😢❤😊
❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥🎭❤️🔥
Aladin is a great movie to watch if you really want to see Robin Williams ablib. He is the Genie. The 1st scene with him in that movie is one of his best!
Penny marshall helped discover him! She was laverne on laverne and shirley show in 70s❤
He is absolutely one of my favorite actors ever! The world according to garp was weird but it really cool movie that I love just a young person. I think it came out in 80 or something like that. And of course he played the genie in Aladdin. He was diagnosed at the end of his life with Lewy body dementia. It's in the Parkinson's family and he suffered from depression for many years. I guess he just couldn't see himself going out that way. I can understand. I have young onset Parkinson's for going on 14 years now. Still independent. Reaction channels brighten my day. Great reaction! Keep looking at his stand up. I think he has one where he is overseas with the troops. That was a really funny one because he didn't realize that they were taking the flag down and they and they all turned their back on him when he was on stage. Because they all had to salute and look toward the flagpole. It was hilarious. You have to be a military kid to completely understand it but. Thank you so much for your reactions
You’ve hit GOLD!!! Robin Williams is the best! Check out Denis Leary!!! He’s amazing as well!!! 😂
A $ $ h o.... 😂
This coming from someone who grew up on Robin Williams. You've been watching a lot of Robin Williams. You're allowed to go crazy.
Patch Adams, Awakenings, Dead Poets Society, The Bird Cage and Good Will Hunting are some of his very best films in my opinion because you see his serious side and his silly antics at the same time. He was a little bit of everything and we loved him!
Birdcage is one of my favorites for comedy!!
Definitely check out Aladdin. A lesser known but beloved cartoon movie he voiced in was Fern Gully.
True genius. No cap.
Jay, when Robin died, I felt like I had lost a Family member. I really felt his loss! What a genius, his Wit was so quick. When he would come on The David Letterman show “Late Night”, Dave would just let him go! He would introduce him and then the next half hour or so Robin would improvise and the audience was in Stitches, he Slayed the audience! To this day, I still miss him. I live about an hour away from him (San José, CA.) and he lived in Marin, CA. just the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. R.I.P. Sweet Prince, you went to soon!….. SanJoséBob
Yeah, Thanks for this!
Please do Mork and Mindy!! Do everything Robin Williams.. My life turned worse when he passed.. Please uplift those who have pain in this.. xo
Bicentennial Man is a must see.
Absolutely, do some more clips on Mork and Mindy! Even bloopers from shows he was on!!
Early Robin Williams on the Carol Burnett Show (you'd love it). On her show, they ad lib to crack each other up, so kinda like bloopers, but they do it on purpose. Robin & Carol do the 1st skit, then he wanted to do another one off script so she didn't know what to expect. She is such a legend. Her show is a rabbit hole for you! ua-cam.com/video/jfDyTUiL8xs/v-deo.html
Thank you for this clip. I never saw it before. What a treat to watch both of them together!
I cried when he died. Sadly, I called my ex-wife (a psychiatric nurse practitioner), and she said, "Yeah, I treated him 2 weeks ago. No surprise. Those Hollywood types are all the same". I wanted to scream through the phone. He was a Treasure.
When I was a kid, I’d riff like Robin. I could probably still do it but the opportunities are few & far between at my age. 🧡
Robin Williams was the 1st movie star to mainstream voice acting....look it up
You definitely need to see Dead Poets Society! I saw it at release, and at least a dozen times since. I never tire of it. One of my top 10 movies.
One hour photo, a great darker Robin Williams movie. Worth a watch.
This was hilarious.
Could you imagine Robin playing opposite Johnny in Jack Sparrow type or other outrageous characters. It would have been insanity.
All I gotta say is that you need to watch everything Robin did. He's amazing!
A lesser known movie, another cartoon was FernGully:The Last Ranforest, he voiced Batty Koda.
See.....this is why GenX and older folks don't find movies and music and TV as entertaining as the younger set. What Gen Z or Millennial can do this many voices, characters, and improv for 30 min? We appreciate talent like this!
You MUST SEE "Being Human"! Not much press, but Brilliant . It's 6 vignettes. Same Man throughout history.
My daily dose of Jay! 🧡
I have to say I appreciate the grind you have, and enjoy watching your growth and success that has been coming your way🧡🧡🧡
He was trained at Julliard 🧡
It's a small world afterall🧡
Yes, he did unalive himself 😭🧡
Thank you, this was great to watch🧡
✌️🐦🔥✨
🧡💪🏾
There was an impressionist named Rich Little who was very good way back in the 70s. You might want to check out if you can find
Pretty tame appearance from what I remember is his usual guest spots to be.
You should look into what he did on the movie sets he worked on.
Like hiring 10% homeless people in the area and ALL leftover food (and there's always a lot) donated to tge local food banks among other things.
All written into his contracts.
He was a special human and I was very lucky to grow up with him on TV (I watched the happy days episodes as they aired)
Dead poets society is a must, my friend.
Good Will Hunting, How you like them apples!!!!😁
Oprah Winfrey interviewed people for a living for decades. Robin Williams was the only person she said she ever interviewed where preparing for the interview was a waste of time. She never knew where he was going to go.
If you want to see him try to show how his brain worked: There was a show called Inside the Actors Studio. He is asked about how he does what he does. He proceeds to ask a woman in the audience if he can borrow her scarf. Then shows how many things he comes up with to do with the scarf in just minutes. Almost instantaneously. You may want to give that a watch.
(Random extra info: When they would count down what were the most popular shows of the Inside the Actors Studio series - which was on for years - guess whose interview won?)
He acted in Good Morning Vietnam as well.
I believe that heaven is bustling after his arrival and that everyone is holding their bellies.
There's a movie he was in called "What Dreams May Come" thats actually more serious but it's probably my favorite one of his because of it. I think you should check it out at some point.
In Aladdin he played the Genie
🤎Robin William's own Stand Up Routines are great. I do suggest your Patreon for the content. Otherwise, heck Yeah to Disney's Animated Alladin, the first.
I miss him so much
This comic genius is sorely missed.
I understand why he died the way he felt inside been there he really made an impact
You need to watch every movie he's ever been in. I can't even describe how amazing they are. I thought I'd seen them all and then I ran into one a few weeks ago that I'd never even heard of and it was amazing. It was something like the good dad or the number one dad or something...
Have you ever seen his skit where he plays a Scottish guy talking about the invention of golf... He's acting like the guy who has the idea for the game. I think he's performing on Broadway when is doing that bit.... I'll try to find the title for you.
I love your reactions. I really do😊
... Okay, the title of the UA-cam video that has that section is called 'Robin Williams live on Broadway: Golf'
😂
Check out everything by this man.
2005 W. Bush Jr. was in office when this movie came out.
Good Morning Vietnam.
You should watch Mrs Doubtfire, The Birdcage and Patch Adam's ( based on a true story). He is the Genie in Aldin. And he's in Happy feet where he plays 3 different characters.
Trying to be careful and respectful. He did self unalive by hanging. He had been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and I believe he started experiencing Lewy body dementia like my Pops had. It causes really horrible hallucinations. After everything else he had dealt w in life, I think it was just too much. RIP Robin Williams ❤, and thank you for leaving us w so many amazing ways to remember you. I can't believe it's been 10+ years already. 😢
I first remember him from Happy Days.
AWESOME REACTION!!! Great stuff!! ! ♥♥♥ Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
@jayflex this interview was from 2004 based on him saying he was 53 during the interview. in the 70s, robin wsa high on coke when he was filming most of the episodes of Mork & Mindy.. his nose candy habit eventually led to the cancellation of the show
He was amazing in good will hunting
Robin Williams = genius.
You gotta check out "The Birdcage".
If you want to see one of Robin Williams best films check out the animated film Aladdin he's great in that.
You should also check out his hero Jonathan Winters (he was on mork and Mindy too)
They did a couple interviews together and they're madness, (they play off of each other) it's funny
Watch Robin Williams weapons of self destruction it's a whole hour and something of him just doing stand up.
Prince Ali Handsome is he Aliababwa!!!😍😍😍😁
5:35 he sounds like he's imitating his good friend Billy Crystal. If you want another GenX movie to watch......THE PRINCESS BRIDE 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 it's funny, and has a lot of famous actors, and famous lines.
🧡🧡🧡 I would love to see you react to Dick VanDyke! 99 years young and still active 😃
In FernGully, Robin voiced Batty
God I loved him and he is so missed. Watch Mrs. Doubtfire.
Robin was an only child so he developed a lot of stuff growing up
He and Jonathan Winters are very similar. They were on the Johnny Carson show and they just took over. Most of the movies they were both in they just let the camera roll because they didn’t know what either of them would do next. His roommate at juliArt was Christopher Reeves (Superman). What Dreams May Come wasn’t mentioned I thought it was a good movie
You seem to really be enjoying The man that taught me Poetry, seriously Dead Poets Society shows both his comedic and Dramatic sides, His character in FernGully: The Last Rainforest put him on the outs with Disney due to the fact that he was The Genie of the lamp at the Same time, However Douglas Seale was also in both films playing the father of the Female Protagonists Jasmine and Crysta. He died before the 2016 election. Okay Robots (2005) well that dates this interview.
