Absolutely agree that flying a helicopter is so much more engaging than a fixed wing aircraft. There is no time to get bored, as you have to concentrate just to fly straight and level. But it is so rewarding! Looking forward to the Milviz Huey as well, but I also love the H145, definitely the aircraft I have flown the most in MSFS.

Like a virtual vacation. I could land on a beach and just wait for the sunset.😅 Fantastic video with stunning scenery! 👌I have yet to fully master helicopters in the sim, especially landings. 🥴 But then again, they are perfect for these kinds of trips and sightseeing.
Since this is the ONLY helo in the MSFS shop, I bought it and have been flying it almost daily (can't wait till the helos are released this fall) and the float version will be mine as soon as I see it. Nice video, liked and subbed.
This my favourite chopper, the 47 with pontoons, brilliant.
I grew up in an oil camp in Ahmadi, Kuwait. I still remember in the late 60s, going to the American oil camp in Arifjan, on the Saudi border road to Khafji. All the kids were assembled and lo and behold Santa arrived in a Bell 42.
Thus began my love affair with helicopters. Sometime later in about 1979/1980 I learned to fly a Jetranger courtesy of PHI- Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. lovely memories.
Could fly it from Saigon to hue. Can’t wait to buy it😀.
As Teenager in the early70’s I flew the Bell 47G for 10 hours dual, I was learning to fly fixed wing at the same time. The 47 was a challenge the saying “for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction” due to the expense factor in those days at $65.00 US an hour compared to renting a J-3 at $6.50 an hour wet I completed the fixed wing route. Retired after airline and corporate flying. Nice video.

Love this thing, I took it to 15000 ft over the alps, before this update. Record for this helicopter is 18550 ft apparently, only possible in fairly cold air I believe, to get max power and density. Got a lot of hours in this thing. About the 15k flight... getting up was very difficult, and this heli had an issue with mixture so you had to pull down the mixture slightly to get power. And this heli has an auto adjusting mixture so you should not need to do that. They have now fixed it, but it felt like I struggled now to get any altitude at all, need to try again and talk to the devs, might been pretty warm were I was flying, I dunno for sure.
Dont be too afraid to fly it in realistic mode, its not too difficult. You seem plenty capable! :) And manually handling throttle and everything is so rewarding, its why I like helicopters more than anything else, the connection with the machine, and that goes for pretty much any helicopter.
I cant wait till we get more helicopters, 2023 will be the year of helicopters, I know it! :D
About the Yoke... at first when I first saw people do that I was like, omg eww... but think about the Robinson helicopters, its like flying with a extended yoke... not that different so honestly, I see no issue. I could not do it with the Saitek Yoke I think, its too... crap? But I bet the Honeycomb one is plenty responsive and good for it, you clearly seem to do just fine!

Like you, I love this helicopter and have been enjoying it since it was released. Recently tested the float version by taking it out to Reef World off the coast of Hamilton Island in Australia (video is available). My only disappointment is that installing this update will cause any custom or additional repaints to no longer work. I have a custom paint job (paid for) that will not work in this 1.80 version - so I keep the previous versions and simply remove the Float version and reinstall version 1.71 (the previous release) when I want to fly my custom paint. Other than that, like you, I love it! Very nice video. All the best - Lee

This is probably the closest msfs helo experience to flying the excellent DCS Huey, does it have any trim control or autopilot function for longer journeys?
None no, but the real one didn't.
I guess Mötley Crüe is not really fitting for this Landscape. More like the Magnum PI theme. BTW you should try the R44.

How hard is this thing to fly in comparison to the H135? I’ve seen this in the marketplace and it’s always tempted me, because of MASH and the like, but always been a bit leery of it being too hard to control. And the lack of certain autopilot features that are nice at times.
Perfectly fine, like flying a cub rather than a caravan! Very natural feeling honestly, the realism settings help too
It is as easy or hard to fly as you want to, as you can adjust the difficulty on the fly in the in-sim panel. On hard it really is hard, at least in my opinion, no comparison to the H135. But put it on easy first and then advance to medium, and it will be an exciting journey.
