just watched your video checked my fuse it was blown I thought it was a gas only frig....... was going get a new one you just saved me $1200 dollars thanks.
Thank you for the video!! I have been working on my fridge for days trying to figure out what's wrong with it testing different things thanks to your video. I went back to my service manual and ohm my heater elements that we just 33ohms supposed to be 139ohms. I had no idea were the heaters were. LOL
Yes you will save money doing it yourself! A lot of RV repair shops would likely just say o well u need a new fridge not the case at all! Glad it helped Cheers :)
FYI, it takes up to 24 hours for the fridge to cool down if it's at room temperature (2-4 hours isn't enough), so all I had to do was replace my AC fuse and wait a day. Worked perfectly.
Same issue with mine, although I had to replace the mother board on back as well as the brow board up front (tiny board where you press the auto and gas buttons). Also there is a small on off switch to the right of the brow board accessible when door opens. One of the wires on back of switch became disconnected. I swear I think this fridge had almost everything wrong.
Awesome video, thanks! I got the RM2612 but this fridge doesn't come with a fridge light or a temperature control only a climate control switch. Any ideas? Also, once I put the new heating element it did get warm on the back but so far is not getting cold. How long does it take before it gets cold? Thanks!
Hi There When in auto mode the fridge will run on A/C if available If A/C becomes unavailable it will automatically switch over to Gas as long as your propane is turned on of course. Cheers,& Thank You!
Good to know. I have the same model Dometic, but with different control panel (385 04 15-01). My refrigerator works well on gas, but on AUTO it doesn't seem to get nearly as cold. Just barely cold, not to the same level as when using propane after several hours connected to AC shore power on AUTO. The vertical heater flue doesn't get warm when running on AUTO. Should the flue feel warm to the touch from the heating element when running on AC? Do you (or anyone reading this) know where the blue wire hanging from the eyebrow connecter (6 plug) on the upper left of my control board connect to? The blue wire on my refrigerator is terminated with a piece of black shrink tubing.
If your hooked up to power and the fridge is not getting cold on auto or electric option then you may have a heating element problem, check all fuses in the little black box at the back of the fridge make sure they are not blown. Yes the flue will get warm on electric! If not your fridge won't get cold, Also make sure you have power going to the fridge (could be a flipped breaker) Make sure your RV & fridge are level! If it's not the element or fuse you likely have a Mother board problem it's that little black box at the back of the fridge. Hope this helps Cheers,
LittleRVrentals.com Yes, the heating element was the problem. By following your video, I was able to replace the element in less than half an hour. Now the refrigerator works great! Thanks!
good morning..in your video, at the point when you're removing the heater element, there are 2 red wires that go to something on that round panel. Do you know what that part is called..and...is it supposed to spin/move? On my unit, I can freely move/spin whatever those 2 red wires are connected to
Hi There, I believe thats a limit switch... it will trip incase of over heat or fire then shut down fridge, I was told by the RV dealer those never usually go bad. I think it does spin but i will have to check and get back to yea...
Sounds like it's rusted in there? You may have to pull the fridge out of the trailer to get a better pulling angle I would also call an RV repair shop a lot of times they will give you some options over the phone... If all else fails you may have to take the fridge in for repair... Let me now how you make out Cheers and good luck!
Try cleaning your burner, Check all fuses and breakers, Make sure the plug that the fridge plugs into has power If all else fails you may have a lose wire some where or a faulty control board. Hope This Helps! Cheers,

Wow that seems like a lot of different problems on one fridge... Do you take the trailer off road or is it an older fridge?
Awesome video, thanks!

Freezer works well with both propane and electricity however the frig is not cooling appropriately? Can you assist? Thank you,
Check that your thermostat in the fridge is adjusted higher or that it's not upside down.
Thanks for a really helpful video. If the RV propane is on, does this model Dometic refrigerator try to use gas in AUTO mode before switching to AC?

Hi John, Just an update I checked on my trailer and the limit switch does not spin on mine it is riveted in place by 2 rivets, Cheers.
Mine does spin even though it is riveted. Am considering replacing mine if possible.
good job, GBYAY
Thank You!
I can not get the heat element out. It is stuck in the holder and is all cracked damaged. Now what?

Mine won't work on AC or Gas, but the controls are working.

What's that thing called stuck to the flu it has two red wires and a little reset button
I believe it's called a Thermal limit switch if the fridge malfunctions or gets to hot it will trip and shut off the gas supply.
