I took an accidental nap one day and legit couldn't make sense of the world when I woke up. My husband turned the light off when he saw I fell asleep. When I woke up he came in the room and I asked him what time it was, and he said "five". So I was like "🤨 AM or PM?" He was like "..... PM, of course." Seeing a lot of people haven’t mastered the art of the refreshing nap. Here’s how you do it: Naps need to be short, less than 30 minutes, OR need to be long, about 90 minutes. The key is to not interrupt an REM cycle. Interrupting the cycle once it has started makes you feel confused, tired, and sluggish. If your nap is short enough, you don’t enter REM sleep cycle and it is refreshing. If your nap is long enough, you get a full cycle and it is refreshing. Gotta set an alarm and make sure you do it right!

The moment I knew the word "power nap" was one of the best moments in my life. I grew up in Japan and every time I slept during the daytime I was scolded by teachers and my mother even though I needed it. When I knew about power nap, I was relieved that it's not a unique thing to Spain and not a rude thing for some other countries too. Felt so empowered to know that there are other people who need nap in the same way I do.
Wish all the world have nap culture...

Naps are so so important, especially when you have long work hours. I own a small business and I made a small nap area in the corner of one room with a bed and a pillow so we can take one hour naps especially during very busy days. It helps so so much, rest is so underrated in our hustle culture.

Ok but my experience with German culture is that napping is also a big part of their routine.
From young age, the kids have nap times during kinder garden as 'hort'
They also have quiet times in the afternoon for babies to nap, which is great time for adults to also nap before their activities in the later day

One of the (many) things I love about working from home; is this! Nap during lunch break. I feel so refreshed afterwards, and very productive.
In a previous role (pre-covid. When I was working in office) i would nap at lunchtime. I was reprimanded for napping, as it was deemed unprofessional, and apparently a hazard in case I fell asleep during a fire alarm. Only way I got round that was by napping in First Aid room citing a Migraine, and that being in a dark room helped with that.

I love napping during the summer. You sleep through the hottest part of the day and gain the ability to be nocturnal for a third part of the year 😂.

When I was younger I didn't understand how my entire Mexican family would nap but now I live for it. My family in Mexico work extremely long hours 7 days a week and have a crazy social life so it is needed to keep up.
