I like how they always depict warriors hanging out in full armor. You know after walking all day they would want that off immediately.
Pstone to be fair, walking all day in armor is kind of unrealistic. There is a reason men at arms always had horses, even when they preferred to fight on foot...
Surely when your guard is down is when you would want to be protected most? So sleeping and resting in armour would be safer than not? And the 10 minutes it'll take to put on // take off
Putting your armor back on takes a whole turn.

I sure as hell wouldn't remove my gear, even for sleeping, no, especially for sleeping.

I love D&D and everything but I just put this on and had the best nap of all time with my cat.
The only thing better than D&D is a nap with a cat. They're pros at it.

Thats right, light a fire and show everything lurking in the darkness exactly were we are.
its catch 22 really. If you don't set up a campfire then you roll perception with disadvantage per the dim light rules (even if you have darkvision). Light a campfire you roll perception normally up to 60feet for darkvision but now all the bad guys know where you are. So its a matter of do you want to be surprised or do you want to make sure the mad guys know where you are.
I recently moved into the middle of the city (used to live in the woods outside the city and then small mountain and plains/country-ish towns) and i hear sirens and traffic almost 24/7, its nice to have a bit of the forest calm :)
So sorry for you. My body urges for the calmness of the forest.

Tiefling, Drow/Drow Noble(Drow Noble race), Elf, and Dhampir are my favorite races to play. Pitborn Tiefling (Demon Ancestry), Grimspawn Tiefling (Daemon Ancestry), and Moroi-born Dhampir are my favorite kinds of Dhampir and Tiefling to play. I have played D&D as well as Pathfinder, personally I prefer Pathfinder, less confusing, things were combined to form one category, so now instead of a separate "Track" skill it is under "Survival" and instead of a separate "Appearance" score, it is "Charisma". Love the soundscapes, I use them often to help my players get in-character more. Whenever one of my friends or family members is the Game Master they also use Ambience videos appropriate for the location we are in/at.
Edit: I do not have a preference between running a game or playing in a game. I am the kind of Game Master that creates a Character and plays that character in the game, usually though, she is 2 levels higher than the Player Characters, I made two that were max level, and, aside from healing the Player Characters, they did not do much, because they would two shot the enemies, just from doing minimal damage, if they did maximum damage they would one-shot the enemies, so I only had them heal the players, but even so, I made it look like they were casting from a scroll so the player Characters did not suspect she was more powerful than they were.

At night the woods are full of noises that mean nothing important, that are not a sign of danger or anything else the campers should be worried about. That is why the watchman has to be someone who is not tired to death and who can keep his/her nerves to himself/herself. Nobody loves a tired, inexperienced or a weak nerved watch who makes a fuss about every sound in the bushes thinking it is a bunch of goblins getting ready to ambush the camp only to be proven by all that incompetent guards friends (who are now angry because they were waken up in vain) to have been just a roe deer.

There are 2 options for you try to find a local group playing DnD you can join or you can use Roll20 website to play it online with people - which is surprisingly very good too.
OR you can decide to be DM of your group, buy the starter-set "Lost mines of Phandelver" on amazon, familiarize yourself with the rules and the story and ask your friends to join your group.

Keep your eyes open for opportunities, keep mentioning to people that you're interested, and eventually, you might get a little group together. I was actively interested in ttrpgs for years before I got a chance to actually play, but it's every bit as fun as it sounds.
I suggest getting into some d&d podcasts and joining their communities. It makes it a lot easier to find people you get along with and play with them. I reccomend the league of ultimate questing or the lucky die. Both have active and friendly discords that have a looking for games channel and are newbie friendly

No sign of monsters although bandits and predatory animals may still prowl nearby; so apply insectoid oil to your silver weapons and hemorrhaging oil to your other weapons.
If you dont take off your armor you can't take a long rest mate.

i like the diferent sounds. I need an ambient sound like this without the torch sound for a personal project. What program do you use? is a free sound library?
Chema Sock I use Pro Tools to put together the ambiences. My library is just under a terabyte so it contains sounds from a large range of sources (I use SoundMiner to organise and search it). Some were free but most of them were paid for. This ambience contains a mix of about 20 different sounds, so even without the campfire it's not something that you'd be able to pull from a library. I am putting together a "quiet night" ambience so hopefully that'll be of use for your project. Should be up sometime next week ☺
