    This greatly helped! And similar to your experience, I had a sock clogged in (must have been from previous tenant). All is fine with my washer now, without paying no technician. Big thanks to you!

    Thankyou so much for this helpful video, especially making sure to include having a towel put down before you drain the washing machine! My hubby was out of town for the weekend, and this saved me a mechanic bill!

    Worked for me thanks. I didn't have to pull out the black tube because my washer is outside. I just pulled beige cap off and let the water flow on the ground and removed all the junk from the filter. It was disgusting. The washer I'm using came with my apartment so the things lodged in the filter are a combination of my filth and the previous tenants... yuck. Thanks again.

    If you clean the filter (it was definitely clogged) but the machine still stops and throws the same code, what would be the next step?

    • @thejoyoffixing
      @thejoyoffixing  5 місяців тому

      I would check if something made it past the filter and is clogging water leaving the machine.

    My washer filter at the bottom of my Samsung never has any dirt or hair in it anymore. The first time it did now it doesn’t and now it’s leaking and giving me an 5C code. I’ve checked the drain hose. I’ve checked the water filter. what else could it be?

    Why is the filter torque limiting in both directions? It should only be for tightening.
    Perhaps it's a manufacturing defect.
    Torque limiting in the direction of loosening prevents the filter from being removed and you have to use plyers to remove it.

    I found stenching semi-gelatinous, putrefying mouse, that met a grotesque death past the filter, in the tube. When I tried pulling it through the front, with a hook, the mouse cadaver shredded, apart, entrails, an arm, and part of a rear leg got pulled out. The fermented mouse then went from putrid to pestilent. I had to remove remove the drain hose and flush it with water from a water hose. When the grizzly black clog jetted out of the hose and the water started running from black to clear, I reinstalled the hose and all is doing fine.

      What can we say about Jerry the Mouse? He was a friend, a good steward of the dried corn and an above average precision nibbler. He loved tight spaces. He loved wet spaces. Ultimately, his fondest loves became his demise. Let that be a warning to all of us… one moment you’re touching the hem of utopia and suddenly it’s months later and you’re being jettisoned from a discharge hose at 80psi. Let is never be blinded by our desires, and let is always hold Jerry in our memories.

    I actually have to drain it this way daily now... what is the next thing to actually FIX the issue. It's is probably the pump... which we had replaced while it was under the extended 3 year warranty... twice.

    • @thejoyoffixing
      @thejoyoffixing  10 місяців тому

      That’s extremely lame. You’re not getting good wash cycles then. Maybe try a different brand pump. Tell your service person not to use a cheap aftermarket pump.

      +1 for sock sack. Also I lobby for sentence usage such as, “This is gonna be a big messy load… better get the sock sack ready”. Safe for the kids with an eye wink for the parents.

      I’d see if something is beyond the filter housing. I’d check the entire discharge hose top to bottom. If there’s nothing, pump is a strong possibility

    What if I have 5c message AND it won’t spin

    • @thejoyoffixing
      @thejoyoffixing  Місяць тому

      It’s not spinning because it’s not allowed to in whatever mode it’s trying transition to. It’s trying to protect your pump. Check for a clog. If it’s not, you might be in need of parts
