Must have been difficult with those narrow skis off piste. Guess that’s why they’re taking such a direct line & doing short swings.

It was what it was. Skiers then didn't know anything different than the equipment of the time.

To do short turns off piste wasn't more difficult. However, long turns were significantly more difficult.
