  • This is the latest entry in our NO CUTTERS Easy Sugar-Gumpaste Succulent Tutorials - the gumpaste you begin with and the petal dusts used in this tutorial will add a touch of realism to your project.
**PLEASE BE SURE TO USE PROPER FOOD SAFE PRACTICES IF INSERTING YOUR SUGAR SUCCULENT(S) INTO CAKE OR ANY FOOD ITEM**
You will learn how to create a vibrant and colorful sugar succulent modeled after the real Kalanchoe luciae 'Paddle Plant' version.
The great thing about trying to recreate the actual Kalanchoe luciae 'Paddle Plant' in sugar, and what makes it EASY to recreate it, is that while the succulent leaves do have a general 'paddle' shape, you do not have to worry about creating exactly perfect paddle shapes for your leaves, as there is a good amount of variation within each succulent in this element. Some 'paddles' are wider than others, others slightly pointier, etc.
You also do not have to worry about adding the sugar succulent leaves from smallest to largest as can be the case in most gumpaste succulent creations. The leaves do not always appear as such in actual Kalanchoe luciae 'Paddle Plant(s)'.
Even when taping your gumpaste succulent, you can add a few leaves, as well as a good amount of leaves to create a large succulent or a smaller version.
Variation in the Kalanchoe luciae is what makes recreating it so easy, as you can vary all of these elements in recreating it in gumpaste.
You will of course need NO CUTTERS, NO VEINERS, and NO MOLDS.
You will also have the option of adding an increased touch of realism to your gumpaste succulent when beginning the sugar succulent taping process.
    Thank you for watching.
