I had a fluke that was camouflaged on both sides. It wasn’t a keeper and the phone that had the picture was destroyed by water 7 years ago.It was so neat..I wish I still had the picture. That was a mutant fish that wasn’t weird but, rather a unique thing to see.

Love your videos, John. Started watching them last year when I bought my first salt boat, and started fluking last year. Yesterday my daughter caught a 12 lb. 4 ounce fluke between CT and NY. Reminded me of this video so I had to come back and watch it. Thanks for the great stuff you put out there.

Have you noticed a difference regarding which side of a ledge you fish? For example have you notice better fishing on the down side (going from 60 feet to say 65) compared to the upside (going from 65 to 60)?
    Thanks again,Scott

Hi, that boat was my family’s boat. It’s was a 1987 25’ Searay Sundancer named boatwiser. We just had it serviced at lighthouse marine in Greenport for shift linkage adjustments and my parents just put in in the water the day after. The blowers where on in the boat at the time of the fire. There was a gas leak coming from the carburetor that we where not aware of. And gas was filling the hull. They where in the middle of turning the boat around to head back when it exploded.

I almost had the same situation last week when an old lighter stayed on after being put away and torched a paper towel roll and other flammable things. Caught the fire just in time.
