That's HUGE!!! Wow! And see all the individual fans around the machine on the right! Amazing! Glad you asked about that compressor unit, as that question was on my lips!
Andrew that looks amazing! That must’ve been really cool being in the machine room of the fastest elevator in North America, I can’t believe those go 2000fpm. That’s crazy! ThyssenKrupp Elevator has really outdone themselves with this set of elevators, not just the video presentation inside the elevator but the technology and all of the mechanics that go into it are just amazing!
Wow impressive. I retired from TKE a few years ago and this little tour was impressive. Didn’t know TK could produce such a beautiful monster machine. 2000fpm. Incredible.
AMAZING!!! I rode those back in April, and I will NEVER forget how AWESOME it was!!! I remember you told me you got a tour here before 1WTC opened. I’m glad you finally uploaded the video!!!
Jack Hartman I know these are clearly TK, but I was talking to another user who was unsure of the brand of the Empire State Bldg. That user appeared to have removed his comments though.
Really cool video. Those machines are huge. If this is 1 WTC, I’ve always been curious about the elevator machinery in such a tall building. Only time I rode elevators at the WTC was in the original 1 WTC. There was a video on here of the original machine rooms and I was amazed. This was really cool, thanks for sharing. And nice elevator parts collection you have there.
I am surprised no one has answered this yet. All slowdown right to the final stop is controlled electronically with solid state drives. The brakes only apply after the final stop.
2,000 FPM I'd expect to find a gear-less machine this huge in the glass tower 135 floors high. The motor is probably over 100 HP 480 VAC draws some serious FLA
The DC drive motors for the large shuttle elevators (the biggest ones) in the original WTC were over 300 HP. The 3-phase 480V motors for the MG sets (that were later replaced by SCR drives) were 400HP.
For some reason when I speed tested one of the lifts on my phone for the down trip the number said *616* meters per minute at one point. And the speed shown on my phone at it's fastest was 627 meters per minute! AAAAAAHHHHHH! These travel a height of 394 meters at 615 meters per minute... I conducted the speed test by leaning my phone against the lift wall
So much for building security.....I'd have much rather seen the old 339s in action...VVVF is so boring compared to old DC traction. My dear deceased friend Paul at Dover showed me machines long before the UA-cam Craze. I just don't have the ego.

Really Cool Machines with 10 m/sec. Woow what fast! Thanks for this Video...
These elevators are epic and those motors are HUGE
I rode those last April!! Those machines are outstanding!! Cannot wait for the tour
Fans and Elevators with Mr. Pullchain One World Trade Center in New York City.
Fans and Elevators with Mr. Pullchain Yep no prob 😃🙃👍🏻
@@ECFE Nah, those are Otis. Those actually weren't the fastest before these. The fastest was the Willis Tower to the best of my knowledge.
Elevating Western PA - there Thyssenkrupp, look on the machines you can see there logo.

it's good to see the workings of the elevator
Those disc brakes are awesome!

It is 1 wtc
Do you happen to have a video of the old machine room and motors or link to, possibly?
@@CarwashReviewsFlorida If you haven't found it already here it is.
@@connerstines1578 where is the link?
Originally, the twin towers were completely relay logic controlled and the controllers were unreal
Yay! It got approved
Love world trade center. Love the design of the cabs of those ones too
How much electricity does those motors use? What is the wattage consumed?
I am not sure.
And with power disc brakes too? Dang!
J2. Reminds me of the Jupiter 2 from the 2018 or 1960’s show!
I got to ride these (and the bizarre shuttle elevators) in June. They're so cool!
Are the disc brakes actually used to decelerate the spool? or is that motor resistance to slow down, but discs to stop and hold?
I am surprised no one has answered this yet. All slowdown right to the final stop is controlled electronically with solid state drives. The brakes only apply after the final stop.
desielducy, did you get permision to film in this area of one wtc?
Yep. I was given a tour
We all know where these are! But wow those are huge!
Since a bunch of other people commented it, it's the new World Trade Center in NYC.
those machines are massive, smaller in size than the gear-less machines in the WTC towers 2,000 FPM very impressive. How big are the motors as to HP?

They ARE gearless machines.

Now try to get into the Shanghai Tower motor room!
Vancity Elevators HAHA!! I've been to the Shanghai Tower!!
Those things are FAST
Where in America are these elevators located?
A very tall building in NYC
Does the brake set when the car is on a landing?
Absolutely!!
One world trade center?
No dude. These travel at 2000ft/min.
NeilPrasad 1905
It's called sarcasm.
Which vfd is installed?
sheeeesh thats 10m/s or 36,5kph!! fast af
The elevators go up to 102 so this is on the 103rd or maybe 104th floor.
It's a sad reality to think tha no other elevator enthusiast will ever see these again, because of the security nature of what building this is in
How named vfd to control this traction machines?
I found this video to be very…uplifting! 😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
TBT! Is this at the World Trade Center?
epic!!
Impressive kit ropes look a bit rusty
F.S. 1000?
Payne product? (They still exist)
2000 FPM it's about 33 floors per second, that's crazy !
Your math is a bit off. It's about 2-3 floors per second
10 m/s 3 floors per second
Central park tower’s elevators go 2000 FPM
And also play the dover impulse game
Which building is this and where???
In New York City.
where is this located
WOW
I want to see what an elevator machine room looks like
About 22 MPH!
Where?
NYC
Is this in world trade center?
What's this loud noise I'm hearing in the background?
The freaking loud fans for those machines.

@VERNON Takes a L •wmgc• WTF, is your keyboard having a stroke? I can sorta read it, it's like typos but but phonetic, extremely odd.
where are the cables?
Inside your wife that's why she doesn't get pregnant
@Vernon They seem to be spaced far apart.
Surf it!
2000 Fuß / Minute = 36km/h, so schnell ist das ja gar nicht..... die ganz neuen ziehen mit 20 Meter 7 Sekunde also 72 km/h durch
Was this inside the World Trade Center?
MY ELEVATOR GOES UP TO 9000000000FPM! AND IT TAKES 1 SECOND TO LEVEL!!!!!!!
yooo 10m/s?
yep. VERY fast.
I made those machines on roblox
Ahhhh the fans on the machine are so loud!
He keeps thinking of his wife every night because she comes home sweating like a hog because she puts on the red light during the day
That should be for a BIG Thyssenkrupp Elevator. I know it'll have the LARGEST VF drive.
nothing compared to OTIS!
IT IS NOTHING COMPARED TO OTIS!!!!
Otis allowing themselves to be outbid on this job is unbelievably sad.
It happens.
