Somewhere out there, that mother is shouting “I fucking knew it!”
Hahahaha I thought the same
...and mimicking with her hand while shouting it.
I’ve used that line a couple of times……but I’m a really nice person. Really! 😂
@@ponypalpaula tbf I think the mom is too, she was probably just tired af 😅
And her name is Karen!
He doesn't let her answer his questions and that's a pity because her answers are much more interesting than what he's on his mind.
You are sooo wrong
@@michellelekas211 😂😂😂 Good point.
Stern asks very good questions. Just too quickly.
@@notme222 Sure. So quickly that he unfortunately doesn't listen to the answers...
howard stern in a nutshell lol
Can he let her finish answering the questions before firing another one?
And I don't think he's really listening to her, he just keeps throwing question after question
He rushes everything these days
He also does that! He's so annoying!
it is radio thing!!!
He does it just right.
his interview style is so anxiety inducing lmao it feels like an interrogation 😂😂😂
Ikr 😂
I feel the same way.
Absolutely! I thought the same thing. Very irritating.
True.
So true. He doesn’t let her finish her answer before he asks the next question.
Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are very strong actors. But Emily Blunt managed to steal very scene she was in with them. Not an easy thing to do. Love this woman.
They certainly made the most amazing triumvirate! Masterfully supported by Stanley Tucci, of course.
How many actresses have the chops or the range to do Mary Poppins, Devil Wears Prada, Edge of Tomorrow, Sicario and The Quiet Place?
Don't forget "The Girl on the Train."
Maybe Kate Beckinsale, but not too many others, lol.
Into the woods
@@michaellovely6601 Thank you! That performance was Oscar-worthy... She was just flawless. She's always great, but The Girl on the Trainjust confirmed that she is one of the great actresses of her generation
And beautiful too.
Its so strange to me to be as beautiful as she is yet shes able to fill each roll as a new character without reminding me of the one she played before. So many actors get type cast for me, but somehow she does not.
Holly Bryant ,Oh Miss Holly. What a wonderful observation. I would love to commend you on that. What a keen 👁️ you have. Do you have 3 Emily Blunt films that you enjoy viewing? Stay well Dear❤️.
I completely agree
AND the invisible woman?! A beauty!
Especially seeing her in Sicario, I can’t believe it’s the same Emily Blunt who did Devil wears Prada & Mary Poppins 😱
I actually think it's because she's NOT beautiful. She's very pretty, but in a plain enough way that it's easy to build off of her face and make her look different just by changing her makeup and hair.
Edge of Tomorrow is such an underrated movie.
I've always felt it had parallels to Groundhog Day
One of my favorite movies...
It's epic! Loved it!
It’s the worlds best movie! Tom Cruise dies how many times? 😂
Bad ending with all those grenades. Why did they do an exact copy of War of the Worlds for that scene? Also Tom Cruise returned to do some of his funny acting but he can’t help doing most of his scenes in his generic acting.
I like to wonder if that mom ever saw the movie and recognized herself. I certainly like to think her friends did and told her so.
She’s probably thinking “Where are my royalties?? I need to copyright this“. 😂
Nobody loves the sound of Howards voice more then Howard
I love her thing about empathy. That seems absolutely a great way to portray emotion in acting.
Yes, no judgement.
My brother and I both struggled with stuttering when we were kids. It still happens to me when I’m tired with long words. To hear Emily Blunt struggled with stuttering as well when she speaks so eloquently makes me feel not so much as an outsider when I fall into that position.
I'll never forget the power of her performance in Sicario. The extreme sensitivity and vulnerability that she so expertly manifested in that film was unforgettable.
The way she was able to subtly show that, while also looking pretty legit at being technical proficient, while also subtly showing that she was clearly trying to save face and look hard, was just all around quality acting.
Yes she was totally amazing in that roll.
Sicario hit me out of nowhere. Didn’t set out to see it and a friend chose the film. It was AmAzInG
My daughter has dyslexia & really struggled with reading. She was introduced to Shakespeare at age 9 (by her 11 year old brother) & found it much easier to decipher and understand. She has read all of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets but has never read Harry Potter. At 25, she goes to a bookstore every week. Last time I went with her, she bought Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. Sometimes overcoming these issues takes just one person with a novel approach, to make a huge difference.
I Am dyslexic and Harry Potter is a nightmare. Shakespeare is lot easier
Maybe Shakespeare was just dyslexic!
@@gA-er9hv i am sorry can you explain that? What's the reason for that? I don't really know much about Dyslexia so I am curious
If she hasn’t read them yet, you should check out Quirk Books Pop Shakespeare series! They are rewrites of familiar stories in Shakespearean language.
As a dyslexic, the Bible and Shakespeare (redundant I know) are really easy to read because the way it’s written and the tempo of it.
Partly cuz I think in that rhythm
she stole the show in Devil Wears Prada
No she didn’t. But she put herself on the map.
I don't know what movie did you watched. Meryl dominated this movie like Alexander the great once dominated the world.
She did! Perfect performance!
She certainly held her own and was not forgettable.
She was so mean I was intimidated
A huge thumbs up for Mr. McHale! Imagine if he never encouraged her?! She would have missed out and we would have missed out on her and the incredible roles she's done. How one person can make such a difference :)
Angry Mom: Is angry
Normal people: Oh god what a horrible mother
Actors: I'm taking that
Normal mom: I’m hearing this, and I wanna hear this. Normal people: yeah, I’ve had days like that too. Judgmental jerks: Oh god what a horrible mother.
The angry mother was probably disciplining her child, not even being that mean. If her child was being a brat, they deserved it.
I guess that's what empathy is .. You don't have to judge .. But you just absorb that as a human expression
Ingenuity.
Normal People: Oh god I hope she's alright
For some reason him asking her if she was intimidated by working along side Streep and Hathaway bugged me. Almost as if he was implying she’s not on that level. Idk maybe it’s just they way he speaks and I’m not sure how established she was back when that movie came out but she’s easily a household name and is incredibly talented. All of those women are beautiful and talented and there is no need to compare.
Priya adams She was a newer actress. That was her breakout film.
Back then she wasnt as established, so it made sense for that time. But nowadays....
@@elenapopovic2527 Hathaway was still up and coming at the time, IMO. Granted, she had already done The Princess Diaries, so she wasn't a complete unknown, but her best stuff was still ahead of her.
She’s wasn’t on their level as far as acting credits and wasn’t a household name then.
One of the most talented actresses of our time - and by far one of my most favorite.
and such a beauty!
Yup same here
She is intelligent
She is talented
She is funny
Complete package. Great human.
And Extreeeeeeeeeemely beautiful ❤️
Not sure how them 3 things make her a great human.
She is beautiful and feminine in the first place
I had a horrible speech impediment as a child. Doing accents and acting helped me so much, even though I don’t do it anymore it gave me confidence when I needed it the most.
that's amazing!
Sicario is one of my favorite movies of the last decade. I guarantee she will have an Oscar soon, she’s been so good in so many movies and it’s only a matter of time before she gets the homerun Oscar role
Brendan Little agreed. She’s amazing.
Brendan Little the scene at the border was freaking amazing. One of my favourite parts of the movie.
Brendan Little , I love Sicario too. Check out The Girl On The Train. It’s a really good movie and she’s great in it.
Brendan Little same. It’s so underrated. Just watched it for the third time the other day because Villaneueve’s Dune is coming soon. I wish more people would see it
One of my absolute favs!!
She needs an Oscar ASAP, love her
Her skin is amazing!
I wanna be her BFF so baaad. I still quote so many of her one-liners from Devil Wears Prada:
"I love my job, I love my job,
I love. My. Job."
"Oh thank you. I'm just ONE stomach flu away from my goal weight!" 😝
"I shant"
"Do you have somewhere to go? Like some hideous skirt convention?" 🤣
Don’t forget, “whenever I’m hungry I just eat a block of cheese”
“I rarely say this to people who aren’t me, but you have got to calm down. Bloody hell...” another classic
Sorry but that’s not going to happen for you
Her character in Adjustment Bureau is just...ugh. so attractive.
Emily Blunt, you have no idea how much I enjoyed your brilliant performance in Devil Wears Prada! You were spot on with Emily's nasty, snarky, condescending, shallow, selfish, brown-nosing character! I loved her, anyway! It was delightful!
You've never worked in an office in England, I take it?
We all did.
The character was certainly not shallow or selfish.
Humanity is important. Emily Blunt gets her acting inspiration from people. Missing people...
She is brilliant, pure talent, charisma and humour.
I feel that movie put her on the map, she was brilliant playing the assistant. Very good acting!
Emily Blunt is such an incredibly talented woman. She has been a role model for me for the longest time. Also, what she and John are doing on SGN is the highlight of my quarantine experience!
Brenna 345 : She needs a director like James Cameron to bring her totally out.
Interesting that Brits find southern accents easier to mimic. Anthropology of southern dialects reveal they originated from immigrants of British Isles in 17th and 18th centuries with influences from African cultures.
I flew into Dallas, and someone in the airport spoke to me and I swear to god I thought they were Irish, then i slowly realized their accent was American (I'm English).
Southern accents seem easier for everyone its slower and drawn out and smooth. Aussies and kiwis have done it well too but our english comes from the brits so maybe thats why.
HaoleboySurfEC , that is probably why they don't have to suppress the brit accent which you can tell when they do non southern accents. They don't have to suppress just re-direct it somehow if that makes any sense.
There's also a very noticeable French influence in the Southern American accent, especially Louisiana
The southern accent is somewhat closer to the original British accent. The tonation and mouth shape
Emily Blunt is gorgeous.
Yep
Sexy eyes
And humble, witty, sweet. She is so cool.
That's a good eye Henrik
He’s such an awful interviewer! He interrupts constantly and is so abrasive in the way he sets up his questions...
He's actually one of the greatest interviewers. He gets his guest to open up and say things you will never hear anywhere else.
Howard's 40 plus year career in radio, interviewing thousands of people from every walk of life under the sun, with 100's of millions of dollars in the bank to show for it, says he knows his way around an interview, I would say.
He's WAY less abrasive than he used to be. Howard has mellowed out a lot in the last 25 years.
Don’t watch him then. He’s been around for generations and he gets paid incredibly well with infinite amount of fans world wide. Your opinion is obviously in the minority
It's kind of how people speak
I audited a class with Uta Hagen at HB Studios. She said she constantly observed people how they act, behave, do things and so forth. Great acting advice.
Emily Blunt is just the nicest person!! Love her sense of humor and her tactfulness.
Emily is such a sweetheart, seems very down to earth and beautiful also. Keep Safe Everyone 😊🍀🇮🇪
You can feel him gearing up to interrupt every person he interviews
He's asking questions like a CIA agent, it gives me anxiety
Howard....just take at least 5 breaths after asking a question. Give your guests time to answer!
She epitomizes the loveliest qualities a person can have . I love her ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Adjustment bureau excellent film really under rated definitely worth watching
Soaking up people on the streets! - Emily is genius
That line she "stole" is actually something I heard all over from various sources starting in the 80s. I've even used it a few times. 😁
I gotta say I have to agree here - most of my teachers were just working on their retirement and had given up caring long, long ago!
Emily Blunt talking about empathy allowing her to portray anything her characters need her to, reminded me of Goldie Hawn in First Wives Club... "You think I don't have feelings? I'm an ACTRESS! I have ALL of them!"
Our HS English teacher said the same thing...that it was smooth transition from a British to an American Southern accent, which Vivien Leigh had masterfully expressed in her role as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind. The subject came up in class because it was at the same time the movie was re-released into theaters and all the kids were seeing it for the first time. Our parents had seen it first run.
The Southern accent is descended from wealthy British traders and aristocracy. You can hear it, especially in the Charleston area. Boston is the same. One big way to hear it is the dropping of the R's.
I love how Robin jumps in with the zinger at the end !
Emily Blunt is divine and Howard Stern is such an engaged, disarming interviewer. Love them both to pieces.
He gets criticized a lot for his “aggressive” style, but I think that his fast pace prevents awkwardness in interviews. Sometimes people feel like dead space has to be filled and they can begin to ramble. That kind of situation can be uncomfortable.
Listening to her say the word "timbre" is very beautiful...
Emily Blunt to me was the hot chick in Devil Wears....that was the first time I saw her in a film and I knew she was going to be some kind of star. She was great and still is.
Watch her in my summer of love. That’s where I first saw her.
Emily have infinite range of acting... She is so talented and beautiful..!
She is such a well rounded actress.
Never seen this interview, very nice. But on the title alone I knew it had to be “I’m hearing this, and I wanna hear this.”
I had a moment this weekend Howard. I found all my old tapes of your shows. Up here in Canada my sister and I used to tape the radio show on VHS. We would take turns getting up at 3 am to start the tapes. If you set it to ELP you can get a show per tape, sound is actually pretty good. Im hooking up the VHS today boys, i have a box with everyshow from October 2001. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
I'll give you a little insight on stuttering..., at least as it applied to me.
i used to stutter when I was in grade school, and it took me a long time to realize, I stuttered because I got cut off a lot when trying to express my feelings. I was too worried about getting cut off, and yet trying to say what I wanted to say fast before I got cut off, and it just domino'd into stuttering. When I learned to be more confident and assert myself, even if I had to keep raising my voice so I couldn't get cut off so easy, the stuttering went away. I think it also taught me to think a lot more about what I was going to say before starting to speak. Nowadays, not to toot my own horn too much, but I get comments like, "You're a wordsmith" etc.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share that bit on stuttering.
When Emily Blunt says, "You just have to feel it, and the camera see's everything".... It makes perfect sense.
I'm from the south and actors rarely get a southern accent right. I think Anna Paquin in "True Blood" was one of the few that got it right.
You don't think Daniel Craig in Knives Out was convincing?
Southern accents are music to my ears.
BOOM and she’s from New Zealand
Suki!
Much needed video. Thank you.
It’s radio, he always talks loud and fast and he has to keep it going. She’s whip smart and can keep up while remaining calm and very composed. Nothing rude about the interview.
Please upload more video from Emily Blunt's Interview
My goodness watching this for 3mins gave me headache. God bless her for putting up with her
Really want to listen to all of this interview but him not letting her finish is so stressful!! 😱
Like the way she's sitting
Looks like pose from a renaissance painting.
A casual queen
Can he let her answer before asking the next question?!?
She's so very cool. One of the best.
We are thankful for the Mr. Mchales of the world 💗
Thanks Mr McKale
I honestly wouldn’t fan out over a lot of celebs but Emily is definitely on my freak out list. She’s just awesome lol
She’s a excellent actress
her role and Merryl's role are iconic
And Stanley Tucci’s
shes so lovely
She's amazing!!! Love her work, and also seems to be a lovely person!!! 😍
She was really good in TDWP .
My fav actress.
Great interview.
Awesome Howard, love Emily Blunt. Thanks for a great interview 👏
I just LOVE me Emily Blunt! I can't remember which role that she first had me mesmerized, maybe Sicario or Edge of Tomorrow (didn't even remember her being in DWP!), but I love her best when she plays a Becky Badass! Fierce I say, FIERCE!
So beautiful and witty. 😍
Mr. McHale, the world thank you for what you did :)
Yes. I'm in love with Emily Blunt. 😍
Love her! This was a great interview.
My favorite actress. The best!
Emily Blunt is such a good actress. She was awesome and funny in The Devil wears prada 👠
Thank GOD for Mr. Mchael!! (sorry, I don't know the spelling)
The "Standard American Accent" is a News Anchor.
Before Radio and Television, distance caused people to adopt localized accents. Radio and TV changed that.
“Where do you find horrible people?”
On ‘The View’🤷♂️
omg if we could just remove his questions and have her answers it would be amazing
She’s amazing! 😍🥰
Oh, how I love her! She’s enchanting!
He has a great voice, NY or not-perfect timbre is what makes his voice great for radio; and Emily seemed quite natural and relaxed. Good interview I think.
Christ, she’s so attractive!!!
She’s very common English there’s a lot of women here in the uk that sort of resemble her but I do agree she’s very good looking :)
@@scouser2010ify It is not only her looks, convince me that there are British Women that have that rare combo of brains, depth, sensitivity, humour, also plenty of other things not going to take the time to type it all
She was great in Sicario.
I loved this interview. Emily Blunt is superb!❤
Love this woman.
Great actress and human being...very likeable...hope she wins an oscar soon 😊😊😊
