Good to see you back and it is nice to see a "work in progress" video. All the thinking, trying, misshaps, and waiting time is refreshing to see for a amateur terrain builder.
Building terrain takes time and thoughts. It's not a 10 minute work.
Can't wait to see how this turns out. The sunken effect is such an appealing idea.

Waiting for PVA to dry/cure is a big part of modelling hey?! 👍😅
Honestly, you, probably, shouldn't have trimmed the foam away yet, if you want to blend it in, you could use the foam as a base point for things like sculptamold or similar in order to go for a more natural look to the ground. Perhaps a bit of rocky ground where the builders had thought it was more stable which led to the tilt as that part remains more firm while the rest is sinking.
