I’ll be 75 next Friday, so I did MCM first hand. I didn’t have all the amazing stuff that I love now, but I was a bit bohemian in my decorating.
I’m a bit amused at you kids and your gallery walls. I believe they were invented in my day(66-67)
I had a wonderful one and I did them for others. But we called them GROUPINGS. I wish I could find the pictures of them. Maybe they’ll turn up.
Oh, and finally, to get it all just right, I laid it out on the floor to arrange it before I put in a nail.

I DIED when I saw the purple Iris painting! It was toward the end, had a citron/mustard yellow background with a wooden frame! I’m always hunting for purple Iris, as that was my late mother’s favorite flower.❤️ neat finds!!

Japan is an incredible place to visit. We lived in Tokyo for a year, loved it. Just don't go in the summer, we visited Kyoto in July and it was so incredibly hot we had to leave a day early. Tokyo nearly as bad. Fall is the best weather!
I went to Korea in the spring and just missed the cherry blossoms blooming 🥺 so I want to try to time it for Cherry Blossoms 😆🤞 🌸 great advice to skip summer!

At your 1:50 time stamp you are showing red garland bead hangings. As a child growing up in the 1950's we strung cranberries every fall before they where completely dry to help the needle to go into them easier, plus then they would be dry and hard for the Christmas Tree in 2 months. We would string two 20 foot long strands. Then just before Christmas we desmantel one and then restring it with popcorn in between. Since the holes were already in the cranberries they were easy to restring. Other than a few Austrian bulbs my Mom collected over the years and childhood homemade ornaments, this was our cherished tree. These were not the most beautiful trees for anyone else to look at, but to us it was the most beautiful creation. Fast forward to the 12th day of Christmas or on the Feast of the Epiphany, we then would put our real tree outside as a winter treat for the birds. They loved it and ate every last berry and corn. Simply? Yes, but the most treasured memory of my childhood that no money in the world could buy.
Japan is my on my wish list , my daughter and I just love all things Kawaii and all the anime , they have craft stores galore with the coolest things. I'd love to go antiquing there too! Best of luck on your new endeavor!

The sticks are called swizzle sticks.\a 1960's term.
I have the candle holders that go on the Christmas tree that were my great grandmother's. We still put them on the tree along with the lights. We light the candles while we sing two German Christmas carols then we blow them out an plug in the lights and sing American Christmas carols. A family tradition we have followed for decades.
I think you are going to use the bathroom sink a lot for cleaning things🤷 the new space is awesome! I truly love the zebra, great find!

Many years ago there was a Scandenavian store where I got most of my ornaments when first married. They are now on the trees of my three grown children. One of my daughters has now asked for more since she elected to put up a second tree this year (and no we are not of that decent, we are Italian lol) I've been
looking in all the thrift and antique stores but haven't been able to find any, so I ordered them online. lol I love watching your journeys shopping.

I am not into vintage before but now that I had been to a lot of museums, I now enjoy seeing old stuff at thrift stores. But after seeing your videos, I am tempted to buy and maybe sell 🤔😅

I have a weird obsession with faces and heads made out of pottery, metal or wood.

Hi Laura. Always excited to see notifications of new vids from you. I believe that the paper mache lady from Mexico is possibly made in Capistrano and artist is Gemma Taccogna. I am also a reseller and have a fondness for boho eclectic items. That paper mache is right up my alley. Great find she is awesome.

When we were stationed in Germany my mother had us pick out Christmas ornaments at the Christmas markets every year. We took them with us when we moved out. I did the same thing with my daughter until we moved stateside.
