brutal, but right call. I’m surprised this was called a good goal on the ice by the front ref when the goalie interference was so obvious. If i’d seen this in a game i’d instantly wave it off and heise in the box for 2 min goalie interference.
@@lordexorr According to PWHL rules you're probably correct. The rule says " attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper", it's a fair argument that this wasn't intentional and she lost her edge. I guess it's a judgement call at that point. To me, it almost seems like the line she was skating would have resulted in contact with the goaltender rather or not she fell. And the rule book i ref with puts all responsibility on attackers to avoid contact with goaltenders. But we'll never know, maybe she could have made that sharp turn, she is Heise after all.
@@flavinyl not really a judgement call because she had control of the puck. Had she not had control of the puck you can argue for 2 minutes but having the puck and driving the net and making contact with the goalie in that manner isn’t a penalty. Had she scored on her initial drive to the net the goal counts and no GI. GI is because she collided with the goalie after not scoring a goal and her teammate scored before the goalie could get back into position.
@@lordexorr It totally is tho, it even says so in the rule book : "The rule [71.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper ] will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgement of the Referee". This rules don't differentiate rather or not the player has possession of the puck. If she'd scored before making contact yeah the goal would have been allowed, we've all seen plenty of goals like that. But if she'd score after making contact, even if she had possession and entered the crease "legally", it would be GI. Anyways, we agree on the GI call. As for the penalty, I think it hinges on the judgement of the official about rather or not the contact was intentional. And nothing else. Intension is a nebulous thing to infer as a ref. I'd argue contact was inevitable with the lane she took... But I can also see how it would be accidental as she was trying to cut back in front and score.
The only US market to actually have attendance over 10k. They deserve it more. And my brother in law is right.... People really do over use the "😂" emoji
That was goaltender interference any day of the week. Player was already fully on her trajectory to plow into the tender when the defenders stick made light contact. Good overturn by the refs.
Bud its goaltender interference without a doubt, unfortunate for minnesota but its very clear shes not able to make the save due to heise, who went down with almost no contact. Good call
The goaltender interference gave vibes of when tootoo ran the goalie 10 years ago. No chance of cutting back in front of the net when youre below the goal line
Two reasons, one after game one Kendall Coyne Schofield and Hilary Knight (the two team captains) agreed their would not be a handshake until the end of the series. Two, they probably assumed with that goal being overturned them celebrating on ice would not be taken to kindly and so decided on a graceful exit stage right.
As disappointing as it was the goalie interference call was legit. What I struggled with was the officials swallowing their whistles on a couple blatant penalties. The officials failed to call Boston for literally horse collaring a MN player along the end boards late in regulation and ignored the trip on Boston in OT not long after MN had been called for a very similar trip. The way the power plays were going it may not have made a difference but the officials need to call it both ways.
It was a no-good goal. Every none biased fan agrees it was goalie interference. If you're a Minnesota Homer, then just go cry about it like a little baby
@@Nickh4929 oh and you aren’t a Boston fan huh? The refs let them play all night. And then make that abysmal call. She trips her into the goalie. Idk what you’re looking at if you don’t see that
@@ccbutkus You think they would call off a goal for a player tripped by a defenseman into their own goalie in the NHL? Is that the rule? Or are you saying she just fell after a stick took her legs out and it’s her own fault?
Most insane game i've ever watched.
7:27 the goalie interference made complete sense. In the NHL they can’t seem to get it right but this one was pretty obvious.
Puck don’t lie.
A dramatic win for Boston !!
That pass at 10:05 ater the turn over was sensational. How she knew the goal scorer was right there is just unbelievable. That was a great assist.
This was a wild game. I've never seen something quite like it before.
The most Minnesota sports thing ever would be if Minnesota dropped Game 5 following this overturned OT goal…
Great game. Hopefully next season the teams can put logos on thier jerseys instead of just the city or state names.
Will be ready before next season. They pulled this league together in incredibly quick and successful fashion.
Good stuff!! Go Boston!!
Wish i could see the whole game

Obvious GI but no chance is that 2 minutes. She had the puck driving to the net and lost her edge. That’s just a waive off not enough for a penalty.

ALAW RADIO, EPIC game on any level. Come on Amy give the PWHL some love... BRG Knoxville. Go Minnesota, take it in 5 !!!
It's too bad that the Boston Bruins didn't also find a way this year.
The Bruins were lucky to get as far as they did. Almost no offensive talent, they leaned too much on Swayman.🎉
One for the history books!
Not tonight Minnesota!! 😂
Ok you know you’re still going down in Game 5 right??

The referees robbed Minnesota of this one. That was a good goal. The Boston player literally shoved the Minnesota player which caused her to FALL!!!!!
