Last weekend we debuted Ken's 1400R twin turbo GT500 at Shift-S3ctor Indy Airstrip Attack
This was Ken's first time seeing/driving his 1400R build. After making several shakedown passes in the 175-185 mph range we gave the car some more power on Sunday shooting for a 190+ mph pass.
Even with the car fighting for traction nearly the entire pass, Ken managed to run a best pass of 195.23 mph setting a new half-mile record for 2020+ GT500's 💪

People don’t grasp how insane 190+ in the half mile really is. The amount of wear and tear a car sees from the 1/4-1/2 mile goes up big time! Major props guys!
How so? I always thought hard laumches were the hardest on the car
@@foxxrider250rmy lil pony is correct. You are correct related to the Qtr or eighth. He is correct with the extra stresses brought on by the extra speed, distance, and time with massive loading.

Heat management in the engine is huge after 1/4 mile.
@@foxxrider250r Notice the large amount of clutch slip on the 4th to 5th shift. Car is right on the edge of holding what its putting down

Looks like it has enough power to hit 250, but it would probably run out of gear before that. Of course, I'm basing that off of absolutely no experience.😂 That thing was pulling like a freight train past 200.

Its already out that you can unlock the transmission and take off the limiter and speed govoner on the 2020 gt500 and get 205 ask LBP or Lethal

Bone stock Tesla Model S Plaid runs 156-158mph in standing still to qtr (T P Channel, others). Hundreds and hundreds of run 152+ with no maintenance except tires. Now that track pack is available, Tesla uncorks the top speed. Would not take much to get those extra 40-45 more mph in added 1/4 mile to the half. Maybe some slight mods to the conservative power delivery curve could be useful to insure max odds of finding this extra mph to the half. And would do this 500+ times with no fiddling or expense past tires.
The above is a game changer. 100% hint of what is to come over short time.. Next up, the lighter roadster model, more power, and cold fusion Draco rocket assist.
I am huge Mustang (and Ford) fan. Owned 5. However, ICE like Fat House ICE is at its pinnacle like the past Lockheed Constellation. Right up until the 707 did the roll over Boeing field. I am so many other have moved from ICE. While still having mass respect for Fat House results. The future is not with ICE. Over next decade or so, the world will look at these ICE achievements as wonderful history. Enjoy the limelight while you can. New era is amongst us all. Embrace it.

In the ultimate performance world, ICE is still king and it will take more than a decade to ever beat 1,000 ft in 3.6 sec @ 339 mph. Which EV has come anywhere near even running a 6 sec 1/4 other than a dragster? Zero
Sick week showcases multiple 6 sec and a couple 5 sec cars that are street legal and driven on public roads.
Make an ev as fast as you want and they're still a glorified golf cart and the man bun of the automotive world.

Then their is the fact the power grids cant handle it plus the amount of co2 release on a performance ev is twice that of ice. Elon Musk literally just said and admitted all this last week.
