Oh no. That wood grain was beautiful! I mean clearly you know what you’re doing and you know your area best and what will sell quickest but there was too much paint and not enough wood for my taste. 🤓
That first coat definitely was not very navy! The black added was a far better color. Do you use a tack cloth after the light sanding of the PU before the second coat? Thanks!
Glad you toned down the first coat of blue paint because it was hideous. Loved the handles stained. Overall this piece was well worth what you sold it for
I love how this piece turned out! Did you by chance have any issues with the blue having light and dark areas when dried? Our blue MCM piece did for some reason. Trying to see if blue is a harder color to spray or something
Thank you so much. I didn’t have that issue and I’ve done a few blue pieces so far. I just had to mix the blue with black to get a darker tone. Did you happen to paint over any bare wood? If you sand past the finish to bare wood, you need to primer otherwise you will get inconsistencies in the paint color.
I loved this whole video for all the learning of your craft and how well you explain all your choices and why you make them. Thanks for sharing your talent and expertise. This piece is beautiful after your hard work and talented hands.
It definitely is. I do this as a hobby on my garage on weekends and after work so time saving is what I look for. Brushing isn’t bad but spraying does give you a cleaner look and a lot faster.

No, that is just wrong. There was nothing wrong with it before. Nothing a little light refinishing couldn’t have helped. Painting it was not the most brilliant thing.
Those doors were gorgeous before you decided to paint them. They looked fine.
Thank you
So amazing!!! Love it, love it 😍
Thank you so much for the compliment. I really like your work too.
First time watching. Like it! Came over from The Shabby Guys channel. Just subscribed! 😊

Thank you so much. I don’t use a tack cloth. I just use a microfiber towel but want to grab a few tack cloths

I hand paint my pieces but watching your videos I think investing in a sprayer is a really good idea

I appreciate your honesty and opinion, but this is what my client was looking for, so that’s what I’m going to deliver.
I typically love your work but this time I would have preferred a refinish in lieu of paint. Gotta admit the look is good.
@@aok2727 thank you so much. The color actually came from a client who was looking for this color combo so that’s how I based this project off of.
Oh beautiful! Great job 😍
