  • Our Final Leg of Our 6 Week Road Trip in Malaysia as a Travelling family.
After heading back to KL from Penang, our journey takes us from Kuala Lumpur where we drove to the Genting Highlands, Malaysia's only legal place of gambling. The many hotels and Casino's situated on top of an 1800m high mountain wasn't really our vibe but thankfully the kids were happy with the indoor theme park Skytropolis. After 3 days we headed South West to Melaka ( Malacca) for a week and explored the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Malacca and the beachside town of Klebang Beach. The highlight of our entire Malaysian experience - Rawa Island was next on the itinerary and boy did this place deliver! This is Malaysia's true gem and we would highly recommend Rawa Island as a MUST see/do for any persons travelling to this part of the world. Make sure you stay at Alangs Resort on this island paradise!

Rawa Island may not be very popular for Malaysians. Langkawi, Tioman, Pangkor, Kapas, Sipadan are popular Your adventure as a family opened my eyes to what Rawa Island embodies. I am surprised even though I am a Malaysian that Rawa Island is a destination that personifies the eyes. Thank you.

Kuala Gandah, Pulau Rawa, some of the 💎 places most tourists don't know. You guys really explored Malaysia 🇲🇾 👍. Recommend visiting Sabah(Borneo) next, beautiful mountain kinabalu, tropical islands, unique wildlife: Orang Utan, Proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants etc.

Rawa is a private island. Next time try these:
    1. Perhentian islands
    2. Lang tengah
    3. Redang
    4. Kapas
    5. Tenggol
    6. Tioman
    7. Pulau besar

Be mindful when travelling on roads anywhere into/along East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Yesterday's night (early morning, after midnight), an 8 years old Malayan Tiger was hit by a car while jumping crossing the road, along KM 50.8 of the East Coast Highway near Bentong, Pahang.

Amazing road trip. But if I were you, to save time and petrol, I will do a loop around peninsula. Starting with penang, to the east coast until mersing, back to melaka, then kl, genting, Kuala gandah. Clockwise. So that you do not miss the perhentan islands and the grik-jeli highway.

This is the first time I have seen this island, and it looks interesting. The water is clear, there is white sand, and there is an island in front of the sea. Yes, it seems that this island is really private.

Penang is located at the west coast also known as the Malacca Straits, which has been the main & among the busiest shipping channel between Indian & Pacific ocean since centuries ago. With all the traffics, the strait is highly polluted & not as condusive for the marine biology & blue water unlike those islands in the east coast (the South China Sea).
