Another good video. No headache inducing panning or zooming in and out in the subject, also good clear information about the railway and the services. Wish I'd explored this side of the old Southern network while I lived down South. It's now a 400 mile round trip. Top jib, great video.
@@BoogiesTrains turn right out of the main station entrance, follow the road round against the traffic. When you reach the main A235 turn right towards Croydon, walk past the hospital and the park is a little further up on the left hand side.
Does Thameslink sometimes stop at Purley when operating some services including Brighton and Gatwick Airport or is it mainly Southern trains that stops at Purley. Also Purley as its in South London used to be in Surrey. Southern should still replace the Class 455 and Class 313 if they are planning to replace those units in couple years time.
bedford- gatwick trains stop at purley and go fast to redhill peterborough- horsham trains don’t stop at purley but additionally call at coulsdon south and merstham
I've got some clips from Stoats Nest showing the Peterborough switching from the slow to the fast. The video will be published sometime in the next few weeks.
I use a Panasonic Lumix TZ90. It's actually a stills camera but has a good video capability including 4K. I like it because it is light but has a good optical zoom. Battery life is good. Generic batteries are cheap and reliable. Four batteries and a 128gig memory card will last all day.
@@BoogiesTrains Would I need a new battery and Memory Sim every time or not? Sorry for all the questions just want to know I’m getting the right things 👌
I should have mentioned that the batteries are rechargeable. I carry charging bricks and a mobile charger with me just in case I need to top up. At the end of each filming day I transfer the results to my laptop and a backup disk, making the memory card available for the next outing.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent railway video as always Boogies Trains
Great video
I remember taking a train from Purley to Charing Cross at Easter 1971. While waiting I saw the Brighton Belle passing! I was then 16… 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
Mr Boogie has produced and directed another brilliant informative video. Well done 🤓 stay safe 💙
Thank you.
Excellent as ever. There's a little display about the Surrey Iron Railway, in the park between Purley and Purley Oaks, on the original alignment.
I wish I had known about that. I would have been interested in having a look. Next time I'm in the area I'll try to find it.

Thank you. I haven't made it back there yet.

Thameslink does stop at Purley but only those on the slow line.

I remember the good old days on the Brighton line, before the vomit inducing 700s entered service
What camcorder do you use? Looking to buy one!

@@BoogiesTrains Alrighty, is there an app you can transfer onto an iPhone?
I don't use any Apple kit so I have no idea.
