Howdy shipmate, seems like you are getting “wondering eyes” each time you review a newer boat with a little more upgrades from your 27. Can’t wait to see what you end up buying. Of course will love to watch your series of videos on the process of selling your boat. You only get one go around in life, so don’t wait too long like I have. 😊. Looks like the next best thing I can do is a center console 25 foot fishing boat down around Pensacola FL - birthplace of Naval Aviation
I love the powertrain on the C288 with twin F250's and the integrated cockpit/transom and a10 foot beam. Very nicely done. Unfortunately for me, I prefer the floor plan of the R27-OB over the C288. The C288 floor plan is the inverse floor plan of the R27-OB. If the C288 had a stateroom it'd be more compelling, but it's still just a v-berth. So far, I haven't found another boat that I like better than the R27-OB. Apparently, I'm pretty picky. Lol :)
I think these types of boats would sell well in the Great Lakes region but you never see them around here. Mercury rules around here so that might be a small issue, along with inboards in general but I think a solid dealer in Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland soul ring up a good amount of sales.
Does having a 10 ft beam mean you can’t trailer it unless you have a wide load? The R29 and C30 are my favorite, but, if I had to make a choice today, it would be the R27.
Honda starting to make some noise as a power unit plus of course drive by wire and "trolling mode" which can be a great thing both for docking and cruising depending on how it works of course.
It's a shame they didn't install a propane oven, as in the R27-OB. That convection microwave would crush the house bank. It also appears that even with the additional length and beam width, the galley storage is less than the R27. But the stern bench seat is neat.
Some are factory installed, but not all. Channel Surfing came with a galvanic isolator installed by the factory. Lemondrop did not have an isolator installed by the factory.

Thanks for the info
WOT 54 mph cruise speed is 37 on my C 288
Thanks for that info. I'm still trying to get a ride in one. :)

Correct. Having a 10 ft beam means a wide load permit is required to trailer. The R27-OB has an 8.5 foot beam, no permit required for trailering

Thanks for watching!

The boat cruises at 35mph, WOT's around 55. That'd be a great feature to have! :)
@@Letsgochannelsurfing you know what that also means - double engine flushing 🤣
@@pnw_adventures8413 they make y adapters for garden hoses. 1 flush covers both engines. Lol

can you trailer this boat
Yes. But it does have a 10' beam so a wide-load permit is required.
Probably an F250 sized pickup as well.
