So much to love about this vlog. The pride and delight on your faces as you turn your house into a home is wonderful to see. I really like that you buy your things from shops that everybody knows and uses - it makes you both even more relatable.
As far as the chocolate debate is concerned, I’m team Shawn - definitely not in the fridge unless it’s a 30 degree heatwave!

When painting, do the edge/cutting in first. That way you roll over the wall and it looks smoother than a brush.

Top of the stairs, change the light fixture to a longer hanging group of pendants / lightbulbs!

Bet the house would great when it’s finished but I have suggestion next to he couches it looks a bit empty so think you could put like a little table it would look really nice
It's starting to look so homely, love the grey wall very modern but also warming, it's getting exciting
Nice blog, deffo reminds me of moving into my first place. Make sure the curtains are locked behind the wall supports to stop them getting pulled in and make sure they are facing in at the edges so sunlight doesn't bleed into the room, useful for when you have hangovers.
I love the plain look, we have white walls everywhere and use accessories to colour ours rooms.
Definitely sending the other half upstairs to turn the edges in on my curtain 😂 top tip thanks 😊

Shawn, you’re doing a great job on the decorating! Nothing wrong with doing it yourself! I moved into my house last year and I painted every single room myself and part wallpapered 2 rooms. I’ve since glossed aswell. Painting and decorating is all part of making the house YOUR home. It’s something to be proud of.
Your dining table/chairs look stunning, loving the little Mickey touches! I have the dinner service to match your placemats🙂
No bread bin needed, you don’t have enough work top space. I just keep mine in the cupboard.
Chocolate….in the fridge? YES Charlotte! It all tastes so much better out of the fridge, especially Buttons!

Fridge chocolate
Team fridge chocolate. I like the cold crunch rather than moist, warm and very soft.

Charlotte, I agree with Shawn that you have to keep chocolate outside of the fridge!
Top tip for curtains is to put one ring of the curtain on the other side of the bracket (i.e. next to the end of the pole) for each curtain 😊 I'm definitely team room temperature for the chocolate and I store bread items on top of my microwave 😛 love the colour palate!

It's coming together really well Love a bit of painting. A skelly arm Shawn - really ? ha ha. I use a cheap wooden spoon the handle for small pots and the spoon part for bigger tins. Love the lamp shades. I see Charlotte has nabbed the pouffe, well done lass😂 the colour scheme is very nice. Yes I'm with Charlotte, chocs in the fridge. You don't need a bread bin either so I'm with Shawn on that one lol. You did a fab job with putting stuff together both of you and you've done such a lot in a short space of time. I do like stuff from the Range, the pink picture is really nice. Hull is great, they do lots of tv filming there in the old cobbled streets part. Didn't have time to go to the Aquarium there so looking forward to that but we did go round Hull Minster x

Hey, love your vids and your house is starting to look amazing. Curtains are looking good but, it would look even better if you pleat them the other way from the ends - start with the end of the curtain facing the wall. You both are doing an amazing job on your new house project x

Back in 2014/2015 I was all into UK vloggers as a distraction while I was taking care of my mom as she was on her journey with cancer. Sorry for the seriousness.. but that is what it is.. she passed in 2015 and it's been awhile to recover as other thing have happened with family... ie., my dad went on his own journey... for different issues.. I have to say, Shawn and Charlotte are giving me a smile in a way I've not felt in so long.. They are so incredible as a couple and as individuals. May they have all the success.
Its so difficult to find a good bread bin to buy! But yes you need one!

The house is coming on really well. Your doing a good job and learning as you go. I'm a decorator and interior designer with my girlfriend and the one thing we have to pick you up on is that curtains should go down to the floor, not just because it looks better but it's better for keeping the heat in. We love both channels and wish you all the best. 👍

I’ve just changed our floor length curtains for shorter ones for winter as the radiators are under the window too. Keeping the curtains closed blocks out the heating too.
I hate the look of them short though so will be switching back for Spring!
I must be getting old. Never thought I’d become someone that has winter and summer curtains! 😂

Really enjoyed this vlog. I use to have a bread bin when I lived at home but when I moved in with my hubby, he keeps his in the cupboard so 14 years later still no bread bin lol. Looking forward to Charlotte Halloween baking 😍.

House is looking great Shawn and Charlotte, just a tip with the painting, Cut in the wall 1st before you roll it in and make sure you load the roller with plenty of paint keeping the edge wet with dark colours.
100% chocolate goes in the fridge, especially in the summer when it just melts being on a table

The beauty about spending hours of hard work on a new house of your own is that when you've finished all of the work you can relax and enjoy it knowing that you contributed to its appearance. When you've completely finished the house I expect you'll both be sitting on the sofa together and looking at the finished room for ages and enjoying the result of the hard work you've both put in.

The greys color scheme looks elegant and when you get some colorful pieces, they will
be set off by the neutral look....well done!
A few wall hangings will dampen the echo effect.
You might get colorful pillows and a spread or a Duvet for the bedroom.
I did a lot of decorating and color work when I was a Picture Framer and art supplier so

Chocolate in the fridge, with the exception of a Wispa - that belongs in the freezer! So crunchy!
Looking great though - chair definitely looks better at an angle in the living room.

I think for the white wall on the stairs you wee talking about near the end, it could maybe be a photo collage wallpaper of all of the places you have been and photos of rides, family, friends, etc.
