I've tried this thread (0.5mm) but on loom. It is very sturdy for sure. I have to try with kumihimo next, that's a really nice idea!
For bead crochet I usually go with Lizbeth 40. Definitely my fav between the ones I've tried so far.
(I usually work with 11/0... still haven't tried it with 15/0, hopefully it'll be fine too :9)

Thank you! I haven't tried Lizbeth because I haven't come across this yarn here in the Czech Republic, but it is often mentioned in comments that it is good to crochet with. A size 40 might work with a 15/0. I prefer a size 50, but a 40 might be ok too.

@@Danysska I've made a little test to try it out and I think I will size down the thread cause it's showing a little bit too much for my liking, but it's definitely possible to do :3

Often, if you have too much thread visible between the beads, you can try going down a hook size. That's worked well for me so far.
I don't think it would help with this thread, though, since it splits so easily. I bought a whole bunch of this thread on clearance so I'll have to find some use for it 😅 I think it might work well enough for knitting, I usually find that thread or yarn that splits too much for crochet can be knitted with relatively little trouble.
Since the thread is on the thicker side and not ideal for a fully beaded design, I'll use it for something only partially beaded (maybe a coin purse with dots/stripes/another simple pattern in beads).

Great tip, it definitely works and I recommend it too :) But unfortunately not for me, because I crochet everything with a 0.5mm hook :D

@Danysska You could always try a 0.4 or 0.35 mm hook 😉 I have a pair by Tulip that I bought in a moment of extreme hubris, thinking I'd do microcrochet with sewing thread. I must have momentarily forgotten how bad my eyes are 🤣

You're right, S-Lon is perfect for Kumihimo. But not for much else, unless you just simply crochet with it.
