    Thanks Keith, great lesson. As a relatively new player i've not spent any time on drop D. This has whetted the appetite for a bit of investigation.

    Drop D is a great way to make your music feel heavier, without any distortion

      Exactly. Distortion is great if you like it, which I do, but it doesn’t suit me. Drop D is a great solution👍

    I leave my 4 string Fender Precision in D standard tuning so all the strings sound warmer and fuller. It also feels better - the Alder wood vibrates more.

    I use whole step down
