My girlfriend has issues with her grip. I find it hard to explain clearly to her when to use forehand grip, continental and backhand grip (especially with overheads). Could you one day maybe make a video about when a change of grip could improve your regular shots and your overheads?
For example, I tend to close my racket face a bit (backhand grip) when playing a vibora or kick smash. To be fair I still s*ck at both of those shots 😅). And in Spain a coach told her, her grip was too closed when playing a forehand volley and therefore the reason a lot of her volleys ended up in the net. A small change in grip had a big impact on her volleys. I now marked the 3 grip positions on her overgrip with a pen, it helps a bit.
For example, I change my grip to a backhand grip when trying to play a kicksmash or vibora.
A coach in Spain told her that her forehand grip was too closed, therefore most of her forehand volleys ended up in the net. A small correction in her grip had a big impact on her volleys. I now marked the 3 grip positions on her overgrip with a pen, it helps a little.
You should change the grip when playing more than twice a week including one training. And when she has ambitions to improve the game. Try to get everything to continental
I think its better that everybody below advanced should play with only one grip.

Heb je tips om het kijken naar je contact point te trainen? Ik zie inderdaad op hoger niveau dat dit wordt gedaan maar als ik het zelf doe voelt het erg onwennig omdat ik alleen focus op mijn tegenstander en de bal
Dit kan je alleen doen in de warming up of tijdens een training. Niet tijdens een wedstrijd. Dit is iets wat je vaak moet doen en dan gaat het ineens automatisch
De binnenkant van mn elleboog doet pijn als ik ‘m heel snel helemaal uitstrek. Heb jij daar misschien oefeningen voor om bepaalde spieren te trainen?
Daar ben ik niet gespecialiseerd in helaas! Sterkte!
