I want to add that, before today, I would never have dreamed that masterpieces like this would be something that I could paint. From now on, whatever art work I'm looking at, I won't automatically think it's not accessible to me. I'll be looking at it thinking to myself, "I wonder how I could go about painting that?" I think that's fantastic! How many people have you two influenced into thinking about art differently! Again! A great gift, thank you!
Thank you Beth! That means more to me than you know. I am so happy you enjoyed it and were inspired!
I can't wait to do this again !!
This was great and love seeing all the beautiful paintings people are posting from the group.
Loved it. Thanks for another awesome collab!
Absolutely breathtaking wowowowow❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much!!
This is one of my most favorite paintings. I wasn't able to catch your live showing but what a treat to be able to sit back and take my time in watching you walk through all of the lovely details. Bless you & Cinnamon for inspiring the artists everywhere, & challenging us to build our skill sets in watching/learning from you both. I'm definitely inspired to step beyond my comfort zone and give this a try. Thank you!
+Cheryl Cowie So glad to hear that! Thanks so much!
Hi Angela! After almost 2 years I have decided to paint again this wanderful painting, but bigger this time. I've just watched this video again and I was a little bit excited because I remembered when you spent 3 hours to do this tutorial, and the day after everyone of us posted the painting. Thank you for everything you taught us. I'll show you my painting when I'm done.😘😘😘
+Giovanna Scotti That is awesome! So can't wait to see it on the big canvas! :)
Well here I am again! I love your tutorials. I am learning a lot and becoming a better painter. Thank you!!
This was great painting to do for a LIVE show. I'm so pleased for the collaboration and the fact that there are more advance tutorials. I just love the background and the the skin tones; an all together pleasing and appropriate composition for sweethearts everywhere. . I know these LIve shows are a lot of work and I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it.
Thanks so much Rose. I am glad it went well. :)
I watched the whole thing and it was incredible. You did an amazing job Angela and I hope to be able to paint this one day. You explained everything so well and having the camera zoomed in was great because we got to see all the intricate details. I enjoyed every minute and I appreciate the painting so much more now that I saw all of the steps involved. Thank you for being willing to share your painting experience with us and for enriching our lives with your art!
+Donna Paliotti Thanks so much!!

Thanks so much Medina! Glad you caught it.
I can' wait to start this project. Angela you brighten my life with your videos
+motacrist thanks for the kind words.
Oh wow Angela what a challenge, and you nailed it! It really shows how amazing you are, Klimt is actually considered one if not the best artist of all times, you in an "easy" way accomplished a greaaaat result, when I say easy I don't pretend to diminish your work, but Klimt used a complex technique applying gold leafing and oils, in fact his father was a goldsmith and he understood the use of real gold, in his time there was no golden acrylics, what you are showing us is that we could achieve great results with cheaper materials and simpler techniques, beautiful, beautiful job, you made me wanted to do it, thanks so much, I have been following you for very long time, I've learned a lot from you.
This was amazing, Angela! I enjoyed every minute of the collab you did with Cinnamon. Thank you so very much for taking so much of your time to teach us how to paint such beautiful paintings. I plan on trying this painting this week - on my days off. Take care :)
+Danielle So happy you will be trying it! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Rose underneath me said it all perfectly, so ditto from me :) I hate that I missed this live and I do so appreciate you doing a more difficult painting. I'm not there yet, but when I get there after your and Cinnamon's tutorials, it is nice that there are some available. It's also nice to see where I'm heading. And to see you guys stretching yourself, definitely makes you the very best kind of teachers. Thank you so much!!
:)

Hugs Mona! Thanks so much
Klimt is my all time favorite artist, I love his art work, I would never get tired of going to see his master pieces and let me tell you, you did an awesome job, it's not easy to copy such an artist, I've watched many videos on "the kiss" and yours is the only one I really like, I've been working lately with gold leafing, and I've read that Klimt used gold leafing that was sent to him from China, in about 3 weeks I'll be traveling to NY and 2 of my obligated places are MOMA and Neue Galery where "the kiss " and "woman in gold" respectively are, I'm planning to observe them, and When come back home I would like to try to paint both, I'm pretty sure your video will be of a great use, the skin tones are excellent and in general everything, the difference is that I'm going to use gold leafing, Angela I really admire you as an artist and the fact that you share your talent with others makes me admire you even more, thanks so much for this extra excellent class. I would like to contact you when I finish my works, that will take some time because I'm not a full time artist. Thanks again.
This is such an amazing piece, thank you, thank you. I am looking forward to trying this piece. Love your lessons.
Thank you Eva! Hope you do try it. It is a lot of fun

This one turned out Awesome! Great Tutorial!
Thanks so much Mark!
Angela hi! I have loved doing your tutorials, thank you for all you do to promote artist of all ages.
My question is the transfer of the image. I tried using regular graphite paper. After SO much detail, I was dismayed to find it will not transfer onto the gold paint. Do you have any other ideas how to trace this onto my canvas? Chalk was too bulky for the small details and charcoal smudged in the fine detail. I adore this painting and this one is for ME. I give away most of my work to anyone who asks, but this is selfishly mine. Thanks again for all you do.
Irlynda Smith, The Ravenous Artist
PS. You saved me a ton of money with the tip on using the multimedia pad for practice/learning paintings!
+Ravenous Artist (Irlynda) I think you could try marking the back of your tracing lines with charcoal or pastel. That might work on the gold paint. You might also try gently rubbing off some of the wax from your graphite paper. If it is new it might be resisting transfer because of that. I don't know. The other option is to draw the details in with a watercolor pencil or pastel pencil.
Good luck with it! :)
Beautiful Job!!!!!!!! I've never worked with acrylics on canvas. What do you advise for canvas? I can't wait to take one of your lessons. I can't decide which one to start first. I like them all!
+shelley Lebell Thank you! I would start with canvas panels probably. When you are first learning they are a little easier to work with because they don't flex as much. And they are economical too. Good luck with your paintings. I have a beginner playlist. I would start with something from there probably. :)
This is an incredible video. Thank you SO much. How would you use gold leaf? Would you do it at the end?
This is amazing image i wonder how it would work with gold leaf ground, food for thought for me,you are doing great ,tfs.
if i waited i would have heard you say the original was gold leaf.
Thank you Maria!
Fabulous video, thank you! You mentioned that you traced the image from a photograph. As I've never seen photographs of this work, where can I obtain one? Or was the image taken from a poster or from a magazine? The detail you have drawn is so crisp and clear, so if I attempt to do my own, I want to be able to have as much detail as you show. When I print something from say Google Images, I haven't found any photo or print that shows as much detail as yours... I think that's why this question has been asked repeatedly... where can we get a similar image to trace? Thanks so much!
+Toni di Palermo I got my image from the Wikipedia website. I think there should be a link in the description. I just traced with transparent tracing paper from that. Or you could even set the printout over the canvas and use the transfer paper under it to trace.
I just printed it out but it seems very small. Only about 6 inches in height.
Looks great! I did not look life ( time issue) , I have a question.....did you draw this or just traced it over? Golden nails look great too :)
Thanks Wilma! I chose to us a tracing for this one to save time. Drawing would have been a whole different video! :)
🌈🍀🙏👣🌻🌹❤️❤️❤️🌈
My friend wanted the size or size of the picture and in the end you are an artist
How did you get the painting sketched? I understand that it's public domain, but did you use a projector or just free hand the pencil drawing on the canvas?
+Jagged Little Jalen I traced it from a photograph.
Gorgeous. So excited to paint this. IS THERE A TRACEABLE, IF SO, WHERE WILL I FIND IT?
+Sandy Gunn I didn't make one for this. You can download the original photo from Wikipedia and then turn it black and white to trace. :)
I absolutely adore this! Could you make a tutorial on the birth of venus?
For varnish, which kind should I use so the color would show up better? matte or gloss? Thank you.
Gloss will bring out the color better. Matte has white particles to flatten the shine and color .
Angela Anderson wow! Getting a response back from the wonderful Angela Anderson. Thank you!!!
Wonderful, thanks so much for sharing this with us. How do I watch the live shows when they are on?
+Colleen M I usually advertise my live shows on my channel about a week before they air. Right now they are usually on Saturdays. I do them about once a month. My next show will be April 23rd. On the day of the show you just go to my channel a few minutes before the scheduled time and it will start just like a tv show once I go live. Also, if you want a reminder I would suggest joining my Thankful Art group on Facebook because I always post links to my new shows and videos there.
Ok great! I haven't been to a live youtube event yet. Going to try Cinamon Cooney's one today...so by the 23rd I should have it figure out :) Thank you, I had no clue how or where to go.
Do you have the same video like this one with you painting Klimt’s Woman in Gold!? ASAP
No I don't but you can apply the same techniques
@@thankfulart can you please share with me the list of materials and the names of paint colors so I can do my own work 🙏😢
Hi Angela was there a traceable for this painting? If I become a Patreon now, will I have access to traceables of past paintings, like this and the sea turtle or only to future paintings?
+Mary Cacia Masser I did not do traceables on many of the oldest videos. But I have them for all since February 2017 on Patreon. Most of the rest were public and are in my thankful art group on Facebook.
Have you used pastels to use for transferring the image
Why not do a collaboration with Clive5Art and Jason Bowen as well. That way there can be more challenges.
+Koh Kenny I actually do have a collab planned with Clive. I don't know Jason but I am always happy to meet someone new.
Did u sketch this yourself?
Здравствуйте, назовите краску для лица пожалуйста!
I have kiss painting by klimt
I need some serious help. I've never ever painted this kind of detail but I've managed this and it's for my husband as a gift. I've drawn the whole thing and drew my husband and I. But I've never ever done ppl let alone painted or colored complexion before. I'm a fair skinned redhead and my husband is black. I've seen this painting done with darker complexion before but im really worried about painting the mans face dark and losing what tiny bit of features he has. Help 🥺
