A nose heavy plane flies fast, a tail heavy plane flies once. Finally finishing my Caipi 2 after letting it sit mostly built for years. Good video. I do have to say that I'm always amused when people combine 5.8 with 433, lol. You can't get more drastically lopsided than that, haha. Control: 60 miles. Video: 1 mile, lol. Get some 1.3 in there and have some fun!
Ha yes that's the right quoteXD I'm actually running 2.4GHz video for this puppy. I've gotten out 7 miles no problem, should have much more range than that too. I really only use 5.8GHz for quads...
If you learn to fly fixed on the stick , perfect CG is most responsive best aerobatic performance. Fwd ballasting will stabilize and help punch through, usually conditions determine on a wing.
Little late to the party, but one thing about the receiver comment. Yes, a GPS receiver and an RC receiver are receivers, and there shouldn't be any interference in your case since you are using DragonLink, but for those of us using CrossFire or most of the 2.4 protocols, our receivers are also transmitters (because telemetry). Most of them are far enough away frequency-wise that it shouldn't be an issue, but in the case of CrossFire in particular, with GPS being in the 1300ish MHz range, and CrossFire being at 900ish MHz, there is a potential for interference. Again, should be fine in most cases, but just something to consider.
on most wings u just cut laminate to rough shape of aircraft and heat it on to it with an iron. on some extremely scratch built kits such as his rite wing he mentioned in the video some people like to paint with spray paint and 3m90 spray glue for looks and really good adhesion/strength
Thanks mate, that video was great! I flew it today and yeah, I experimented too the CG "problem" and the launch/nose dive thing. I would have pointed out too that it needs a lot of reflex on the elevons thought, I learnt it the ward way today! hahah
nice video! I just ordered my caipi2. Have flown wings for several years, but was drawn to the compact longrange! I see on the end of your flight footage, it has a bit of yaw waggle?
Hi nice video. Can you compare the flying experience between the two wings. I want to build something more stable than s800 for semi long range 10-15km and cant decide between the zephyr or caipirinha 2. Whats your opinion?
This is dependent on what FC you have ,what it's running (inav or other)and of your GPS as well. I'm new to wings so please somebody correct me if this info is wrong :)

A nose heavy plane flies badly, tail heavy plane flies once
Gabriel Robson if somebody hadn't already said it I was going to LOL looks like you did happy flying guys!
Nah - a nose heavy plane flies fast, a tail heavy plane flies once, is the saying.

Yes absolutely, one must layout equipment based on what components they are using
How do u laminate? I have the first caipirinha.

True. It should need just the amount of reflex TBS recommends. 15mm I believe

what is your launch Technique
Hi nice video. Can you compare the flying experience between the two wings. I want to build something more stable than s800 for semi long range 10-15km and cant decide between the zephyr or caipirinha 2. Whats your opinion?
What LiPo are you using to hit CG with your Caipy?
5500 4s Tattu
I have a question does the TBS Caipirinha II have a return home function
Also what kind of remote controller do I need. Thanks
Mine doesn't. You'd have to set yours up with an auto pilot. I'm using Dragonlink for control. You should use whatever you already have

Nice tips.... ~I was planning to throw it in the air and go with I must admin a little tail heavy plane!
Hi, really fly 90 min?
So what's your launch technique? I find this wing a bit hard to launch as well...
few clicks of uptrim, 3/4 to full throttle, launch with a nice firm follow through at 30ish degrees into the air.
iNav autolaunch with overhead chuck... Launch is flawless!
can you share your setup ? like flight controller vtx rx etc? please? thanks :)
TBS Unify 2.4 500mW, Dragonlink Rx/OSD, fuck autopilots :)
Where are you from carter

5 tips for a better comment :D
WTF r u talking about w laminating? R u putting fiberglass or thin plywood on wing surface. Does not look like it in picture at 5:00 mark?
Sorry what? I'm talking about laminate. I believe I'm using a 5mil laminate in this video.
You popped the covers off wrong you just press the two buttons on the cover.
hell yeh carter :)
Brasil
Looks like your being held hostage doing this video.
You sound stoned.
