Missing it so much, tackling, bleeding, passing, scoring, cheering, sweating, drinking, fighting, and so much more, the best sport in the world ! Rugby forever ❤️🏉

It's like twin brothers, each trying to behead each other, yet you are still brothers. Don't forget, home team provides the beer and food! In New Zealand schoolboy rugby, the visiting players spend the night with the home team players.

As a Kiwi from New Zealand home of the All Black's and was raised on Rugby as it's our national game. Respect is a massive part of it and if you really look at the video Colour & Race doesn't raise it's ugly head.

In Rugby - The team is the star. Not a player like American sports. It is all about the team.

After the game we eat dinner and have a drink with the other team. It really is a wee family, and for as much as your willing to do on field, after the game it's forgotten and forgiven.
The tall man in the Tartan suit, his name is Doddie (George) Weir and is a legend in Scotland. He was a great lock and hard as nails. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease. He has raised millions with his charity. Doddie was probably one of the most influential players in my childhood. When I was a young lock I watched him and it stuck. Even his ability to take a punch and just get fierce.

Dolton it's a Gentleman's sport. They try to destroy each other on the field then all lineup & shake hands at the end of the game. Then it's off to the rugby clubhouse where they all drink & laugh together. Both my sons started playing at 4 yrs old like most Kiwi boys. It teaches them to be strong & take a hit for your teammates. Its fantastic comradery. No room for prejudice against each other, religion, colour, whatever, you learn to take care of each others back. My eldest son played into late '20s with 3 knee operations & too many broken noses to count. The other son didn't like to run so at 4 yrs old he just tackled his own teammates, OK, so it's not for everyone. One of the funniest things you can see is miniature kids running around like bumblebees playing the game. Great to see Americans enjoying the sport. Thanks for the upload.

The full quote is that rugby is a ruffians sport played by gentlemen while soccer is a gentlemen's sport played by ruffians

Ppl who don't know about Rugby that immediately sees the tackles often say "i ain't doing that....why they still play tho?"
This is why,its is so much more than just a sport. Its is the community of surpport and the love of the game that drives us. Eventhough they don't get paid that well, they play the game very well.

There is nothing like it. You play fiercely on the field and when it’s over you celebrate the game and all the players, both sides. Usually there is a meal and drinking after with both teams!

Since so many viewers of this video really know nothing about what is happening I'd like to explain what they are seeing. As an example, starting at 9:07, this is right after the awards ceremony of the World Cup. As the All Blacks were exiting the field the young boy ran onto the field to meet his All Black heroes. Sonny Bill Williams shooed away security and hugged the boy. He escorted the boy around to greet the coach and some other players. He then led the boy back to his parents. Before leaving he took off his World Cup medal (think Superbowl Ring) and put it around the neck of the boy.

When I used to play rugby no matter win or loose we always hang out with the other team after the game

yeah...for a rugby player for example, you know yourself what you have to put your body through in a game, so its easy to respect someone who's willing to do the same.

Theres an old saying that goes something like this,
"Soccer is a game for gentlemen played by hooligans, and rugby union is a game for hooligans played by gentlemen"

@@thedonfonz2481 Yes, it's a comments section, but that doesn't mean that all of the comments need to be in agreement. If bringing up soccer for no apparent reason in a rugby context isn't needless then please explain what the purpose of it is. It's a tired old saying and it's not even true.

You are right in what you are saying: it is like no other sport. It is a family - not just the players but the whole social sphere. We all look after each other.

Do you honestly believe that such attributes don't exist in other sports? Sorry to disappoint you but they do. Rugby is nothing special in that regard.

Probably been said before but there is a saying "Football (soccer) is a Gentleman's game, played by thugs. Rugby is a thug's game, played by Gentlemen"
Some of the bowing to the crowd was at the last World Cup which was held in Japan - a sign of respect to the crowd.

    • @Leifr952

What's football got to do with it? This is a rugby video. Why not just enjoy rugby and appreciate rugby without comparing it with football? This weird attitude is so deeply ingrained in the rugby psyche these days and it does the sport no favours whatsoever, so please stop.

Rugby is a sport you can take your family to but football has fan's that are hooligans so not so good for taking the family to.
