@@crazilynoobz the Tiananmen crackdown was the best thing they have ever done, from that moment they launched china to become the second largest economy of the world and enjoyed decades of prosper, development, wealth and stability. look at russia or india, both became democratic countries but never reached global economic status and are basically worse off. So the crackdown was a good call.

Both Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan have given outstanding performances totally contrary to their usual style. Their body languages , expressions are top notich. After " Seraphim Falls " this is another fearther in Mr. Brosnan's cap.

Love both of them, they are my all-time favourite world actor. Jackie Chan movies is my favourite to learn how to doing kung-fu like professional and James Bond movies (in Pierce Brosnan era (I was born at that time in the end of 1997)) or non James Bond movies are greatly appreciated for me. They're from China and Ireland but great. Greetings from Indonesia
Obvious his character is based on Gerry Adams. The sad thing is, there are endless scripts that could involve the actual Adams and Pierce looked the part, didn't sound the part BUT he was born in Cavan which is Ulster and would be no stranger to the accent.

I see good comments about the movie. But I didn't see the movie. How is it? is it better than police story or rush hour....
screen ipod you can't compare it with those two. Police story is action-packed drama and rush hour is an action comedy. The foreigner, on the other hand, has less action than Jackie's usual film. It's more like a political thriller drama. But you can see Jackie being a real actor here not just the action star.
I feel sorry for the 4 people who thumbs doen.

After seeing The Foreigner I'm curious as to why Pierce Brosnan doesn't normally speak with an Irish accent (like he does in that movie) since he really is Irish after all.
In the film he's from Northern Ireland, Pierce is from down south.
His family left Ireland when he was 11.
I love the actors but found it a little confusing.
