Very interesting insights Rabbi! I have a dear friend whose son decided to forgo college and became a very successful plumber in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood in Pittsburgh. One of his most common (and lucrative) jobs is to install "Passover Kitchens" in homes. These are usually behind folding doors and only used during Passover. I'd enjoy your thoughts on how a regular kitchen is prepared for Passover.
Sure. Until something is fully cooked you shouldn't do something that will hasten the cooking process. When you move a pot closer to the fire it cooks faster. If you take the cover off a pot the heat escapes and slows down the cooking process. If you put the cover back on the pot it will once again start cooking faster. Hope that is clear. If not please email me at askrpr2@gmail.com and we can continue the conversation.
Thank you for this lesson. At around 4 minutes you show the bleach covered with tinfoil. I noticed as you fold it under that it looks like a thin tin foil. Isn't that dangerous above a flame. That's why I don't like a bleach over flame from a gas stove top. Is there a safe way to do this?
I'm sorry that I didn't respond earlier, I just saw the comment. Whenever using fire you have to be careful and be mindful of the power of fire. That having been said I have been using a blech for over forty years without ever having a fire. If you don't feel comfortable with what you saw me do, you can cut a smaller piece of foil so that when you fold it over it doesn't extend to the part of the blech that is over the flame. .
I bought only half size of blech. I don't turn on my oven for all Shabbat at all, it's very hot in our living room, because we sleeping there and we gave to other children the bedroom. What is your suggestion about oven and half size blech? Do I have to buy full blech and do I put extra water in the pots so they won't burn.
If you live near an Orthodox neighborhood reach out to a Rabbi and ask them. If that doesn't work email me your address to askrpr2@gmail and I'll seee if I can help you.
@@RabbiRappaport you are so kind! I attend an orthodox synagogue but we have no brabbi, so I will try to get in touch with one, if not, I will be writing to you. Berachot, rabbi.
An important suggestion is to activate subtitles in Spanish to understand your videos well. I find it interesting because it is important to know so as not to make mistakes I regret not knowing what you say about kosher cuisine
I have electric stove and I bought blech and first time I am going to use it. I know you have gas stove. But my stove is electric stove is the same way you preheat? Thank you.
I'm sorry that I haven't yet responded to your comment. I didn't see it until now. How did it go with your new blech? If you still have questions on Shabbos laws, please email your question to askrpr2@gmail.com and I'll try to help work out a good situation for you.
@@RabbiRappaport I liked my blech. So I have a question, is blech is only reheating food and cannot make food from scratch right? And do I have to put on medium or low on the blech to heat during Shabbat time 25 hours and we can't change the stove at all? Thank you.
You are correct that you may only reheat fully cooked dry foods on the blech, and that you are not allowed to adjust the fire over Shabbos. It might take a few weeks to get it right, keep on trying! If you have any followup questions feel free to contact me, or you local Orthodox Rabbi. The best way toreach me is at askrpr2@gmail.@@allaveremeykina8970
Rebbi Mori: Continue the harbatzas of basic Halacha Lmaasei clearly with demonstrations. HaRav Rappaport shlitah like his Rabannim s a man of many hats. His shteibel later shul brought a true feeling of Shabbos in 1990s Mill Basin Brooklyn. A Yisherkoach to Reb Moshe Bein Avrahom Donelly shlitah for filming and posting this much needed material being viewed by thousands. Actual real Halacha…not raincoats for hats. Halevay, Shomer Shabbos Yidden should focus on the hargasha of Shabbos as opposed to the minutia that weren’t addressed by Gedolim like Reb Moshe
That was really nice!
Love how you simplify the complex!
Thank you for the encouragment

Thank you so much. You are awesome! Thank you for helping me honor Shabbos!
Thank you for the information
Hey rabbi, can you explain more about not taking off the cover and moving it closer to the flame?

What foods do you need to keep hot for Fri night, and what foods do you need to reheat on Sat day?
Hi rabbi, thank you for teaching us, I would like to know where could one buy that kind of blech? I live in Mexico.

Shalom, is there a blech for glass top electric stoves? My oven has a sabbath mode but honestly I am just learning.
Definitly don't use a regular heavy blech. I am aware of people that invert a an aluminum disposible pan and use that as a blech.
