I don't know, I best liked the ending, where he taught Richard Brown that messing with anything else gets a pass and a warning but messing with Claire gets you dead. It reminded us that Jamie is a warrior, born and bred. He's lived a hard and often horrendous life. The only thing keeping him this side of hell is Claire.

Bree and Roger are a perfect example of how you can be angry with your partner and still love them unconditionally. Loving them does not mean you always agree with them.
Jamie finally found peace with Tom when he realized that Tom loved Claire. Who can blame someone for loving Claire, especially Jamie. He respected/trusted Frank because he loved Claire. All you have to do to be on Jamie's good side is love Claire. All you have to do to get yourself killed is try to take her from him.

Nothing about Jamie's final scene with Brown. That was the capper for the episode for me. I've always loved Jamie's complicated side. The one that is so capable of incredible love and intimacy with Claire and his family, but then that warrior side unafraid to exact revenge for a slight. I'm talking epic revenge a la Black Jack Randall and Culloden.

That scene at the beginning with the close-up on Jamie... My God, how can Sam show so much emotion without saying a word??? Wow, what a talent!!! And the final scene with Brown, I get chills every time I see it. What intensity!!! I also really enjoyed the scenes with Tom Christie, especially the discussion he has with Jamie. Then the scene with Claire in the bedroom. Claire, exhausted, thinks about Tom's sacrifice for her. And I knew when I saw Jamie tapping his finger that he was up to something. And he was.

I think we’ll also see that he’s saving his son as well. Who is likely the father of malvas child as well as her murderer. I haven’t read the books but it seems fairly obvious. All of Tom Christie’s scenes throughout the. Series are remarkable. He deserves an Emmy. Such a wonderful actor.

Warning: future storyline revealed. Do not read further if you want to be surprised.
In the books, Tom’s son is the guilty party who repeatedly raped and impregnated his half sister and allowed Jamie to be publicly blamed and held up as an adulterer for it. Maybe this was his get-back at Jamie for carrying out the whipping punishment for stealing a powder horn from the Brown family earlier in the last season. He is also eventually outed as the murderer of Malva. In the books she was going to “spill the beans” to Claire and to others about how she was raped and impregnated by her half brother. He then slits her throat and kills her to shut her up.

While I really liked the scenes between Jamie and Tom and Claire and Tom because of the wonderful acting, I felt only the scene between Jamie and Tom was honest because they had history. The scene between Tom and Claire was NOT EARNED. There simply was not much of a buildup so his confession of love, while beautifully done by Mark, did not seem honest. The show stopping scene was the very last scene between Brown and Jamie. NOW talk about EARNED that scene was totally earned and Sam killed it in that scene! Fierce Red Jamie indeed!

    • @jgrafx

Jamie and Tom’s last conversation and actions were totally consistent with them being declared Freemason brothers (done to keep the peace in prison between battling groups of inmates) since Ardsmere. Freemasons are inclined to overcome personal differences for a higher common purpose and will do everything to protect their shrine brothers who are in danger or in trouble. Tom has found some damning evidence since Malva’s body was discovered dead in the Fraser’s herb garden and strongly suspects who was truly responsible for his daughter Malva’s pregnancy (not Jamie) as well as her murder (not Claire). Tom could not be a good Freemason brother and allow a shrine brother or his wife to falsely be held publicly responsible or shamed or hanged for moral lapses and crimes clearly committed by others. The scenes between Tom and Jamie and Tom and Claire were totally in keeping with this code of honor.

At like she said about him becoming a minister is so quickly. They drastically changed Rogers character and what he was wanting and doing and it didn't come in gradually. So they may be attending to details of the set and other things like that and forgetting about the detail with the characters. Like all of a sudden Rodger wants to be a minister and they're asking him to speak in the church. So whose place was he taken that was ministering before him. It was just too radical I would change with Rodger.

Another engrossing episode, always so appropriate with the clothes, the countryside, the sets, and the plot surprises. I had read a couple of the Outlander books before the tv series, and I have watched it from the first episode. While I have episodes that I like more than others, I rewatch most episodes. I will miss Outlander when it finally comes to the end. One thing constantly troubles me, Bri's accent. If she was raised by two putative English persons, in Boston, she likely would not have an accent that reminds me of California. That does not keep me from watching, but since she was born in Cheshire, UK, why did they make the decision to have her use an American accent. If anyone knows, please enlighten me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tom doesn't actually know who killed Malva right? He just knows it wasn't Claire and won't let he take the blame because he loves her? Also, how far has Tom come from his time at Ardesmere where he resented the idea of someone taking the blame for someone else and feeling that person should have justice done to them. He even wanted Allan punished for stealing from Brown's guys in an early episode of Season 6. Not to mention, he didn't even want Malva or the baby to recieve a proper burial.

I kind of pissed off usually I've gotten every episode all ready to watch and said awaiting each week. What I hate the most is them treating us like we're stupid. They've been promising us 16 episodes right . And even just now and advertisements on Google saying it's a 18 episodes. This says we'll see the first 8 episodes now and part 2 in 2024. That is such b******* that's to make us think that we are actually getting 16 episodes but what it really is is we're going to have no matter what they call it season 7 8 episodes and then a year from now season 78 more episodes in 2024. They might as well say that this is season seven and next year seven eight because that's what it is. No matter what they say that's exactly what it is. That is such b*******. Oh making all the fans happy we're going to do 16 episodes. I really think it has been lost from how we felt originally and excited about it to it not being as interesting and that's why they need to show the whole season 7. And so far I'm not impressed. Good God how many times can one woman get herself into so much trouble even life-threatening. Mean already like I said season 6 wasn't that interesting even though I'm a die-hard fan and we'll watch it. Something has changed I don't know if that's the producers or the directors are who but there's definitely something missing. It's like they're trying to squeeze everything together and by doing that we're left to wonder what the hell's going on the rest of the time. Yes not too much fun watching them squeeze every thing in 1 episode to wear it's like a strobe light we get bits and pieces of a story unless continuity

@@melpy84 from what I see season one had 16 episodes and season 2 had 13. I've been re-watching and I'm on season 3 which also has 13 episodes. Season 4 has 13 and season 5 has 12 episodes. With season 6 having only 8 episodes and that's what people were asking them about. Which din resulted in them telling us season 7 was going to have 16 episodes they didn't say anything about splitting them up. I don't know what you're talkin about because I've watched it from the beginning. When you said how we felt originally? That's what I'm talking about a lot of people we're upset because there was only 8 episodes. And that's when they promised more episodes for season 7. I'm eager to see the second episode tonight because reading back some of my comment it looks like there was a lot of jumping around with what all was happening. I can't believe looking back at my comment that anybody even read all of that LOL so we only have an hour and 10 minutes the 4 episode 2.
But anyway absolutely a lot of people were upset and commenting about how short season 6 was and then that's when they came back with will next season's going to be 16 episodes. And that's what I thought I was going to see not part of it now and the other part in a year. Not part 2 in a few months it says part 2 will be in 2024.

    • @sweetpeach3293
      @sweetpeach3293 Рік тому

Right? I feel that was very misleading. It would be different if part 2 came out maybe a month or two later. But we have to wait a whole year. So I'm not understanding what's the difference between season 6 short season and this one.

I was surprised when a couple of people jumped on me because I felt like they were deceiving us saying it was 16 episodes but will only see eight now and the other a in a year. And like you I even thought well maybe it's just going to be a couple of months and they're going to show the second half. But nope I read it the day I wrote this and it said the year 2024. I don't know... something was off for me. Why wasn't Brianna more bothered that her mother was about to hang. All those boat trips to the ship seemed too easy and not believable. Tom sacrificing himself like that ..well maybe he has another agenda...I love the show but maybe expected more.

Yeah just feels weird there is no continuity just stuff thrown in here and there out of nowhere and then it doesn't even follow the story when it shows this or that happening maybe it'll get better but I do think don't like them trying to treat us like children by saying it's a 16 episodes when we've got to wait a year to see the second part of season 7.

I don’t think the point is to treat you like a child but rather for STARZ to make the most money. With the hiatus they will need people sign up for more months of viewing and it could even overlap. Most people won’t bother to cancel a subscription in the middle. You also need to remember with only one more season and the fact that they are trying to put parts of three novels into one season, it is going to feel disjointed because they are jumping from one interesting plot point to the next. With episode two it is like breakneck speed of getting storylines in.

@@melpy84 I like what you said and the way you said it. I personally sometimes can't get my meaning across in the way I say things. But I was very disappointed in them to find out the last eight episodes of season 7 will not be seen until next year. Everyone was complaining about season 6 being so short and that's when they came out well next season we're going to have a lot more episodes to make up for it. And this is how they plan to do it by separating part 1 and part 2 they can say see we gave you more episodes like we said we were. They kept it pretty quiet until recently that that was the way they were going to do it. When you mention canceling the subscription I didn't know whether to laugh or to feel bad because that's exactly what I was going to do. But every season that I've watched I was able to see all the episodes at one time. So this confused me with the episodes on a weekly basis and someone said that's the way it's always been done. So if that's true then I probably waited until all episodes were up before I subscribed. Literally I kept my subscription to Starz in order to watch outlander. since I have no way of knowing but to ask someone like you is that the way it's always been? In past years did they just show the episodes week-by-week or put them up all together at the same time?

Exactly these little depictions as she said is what is making it so uninteresting to me and then she talks about looking at every single detail well during all of that and making it as authentic as they can we left with more of that and less of seeing the people with their story line.
